GARMIN CITY NAVIGATOR NORTH AMERICA NT 2009
Ok folks. This is the newest mapset for the Garmin Mobile XT that can be found in this thread https://www.wckediden.com/showthread...ghlight=garmin You will also need the Garmin KeyGen to unlock the maps for your unit, and also to make your unit work with MapSource if this is your first time. These maps are a little more detailed than the 2008 version, and also have the ability to import traffic with your data connection. Everything you need to make the maps work is below including the installation instructions. ***********Instructions to install*********** I tried to make this as noob proof as possible. Sorry if it seems over deatiled to some. 1.Download all 5 .RAR files and the keygen. 2.Combine the 5 .RAR files and then unzip the resulting file and you will end up with Garmin City Navigator North America NT 2009 Update.iso 3.Mount or Burn the .ISO ( I used Power ISO and it worked like a charm) 4.Cancel out of the AutoRun 5.Navigate to DVD:\Windows\CNNANT2009Update_ENU.msi and double click the file 6.After the installation connect your PPC using active sync 7.Open MapSource and click utilities>getunitid 8.Launch the KeyGen and input the unit ID 9.Skip down to the bottom and select <custom mapset> as your Map Product and then enter 325 in the resulting box. 10.Click Generate from the bottom right button 11.Go back to MapSource and click Utilities>unlock map and check the "Yes, I have a 25-character unlock code." 12.Enter the 25 character unlock code that the KeyGen gave you. 13.You now have access to your new maps. Highlight the area you wish to transfer to you ppc using the map tool (it looks like a spuare pac-man) and then click transfer>send to device. *****FILES******* I used Mega Upload because the size of the files. About 2.2 Gigs worth when combined. Part 1 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=N3HWIT3W Part 2 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=XF9HU5HD Part 3 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Z0UXW9U8 Part 4 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=SV1FZSZ3 Part 5 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=EJOLH7RL KeyGen http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IXUH86VW If you prefer Torrent you can get the .ISO in regular and compressed form and the KeyGen here http://thepiratebay.org/user/damon1974 EDITED BY KAOS as promised Codehttp://rapidshare.com/users/IPCBY7 Instructions to update stand alone Garmin GPS Devices thanks to mwiener1 Here are the steps I used 1. download all 5 rar files and keygen 2. combined using 7-zip (winrar would work too) 3. that gave me Garmin Mapsource City Navigator North America NT 2009 Update as a zip folder - unzip that to a folder on your desktop 4. from that folder run Garmin Mapsource City Navigator North America NT 2009 Update\Windows\Msi\CNNANT2009Update_ENU 5. from the nuvi (before you synch it) select settings\system\about and write down the Unit ID 6. Launch the KeyGen and input the unit ID 7. Skip to the bottom and select <custom mapset> and then enter 325 in the box 8. click generate on the bottom right and write down the 'unlock code' 9. Synch your GPS device to the computer 10. Step 4 should've put a map install icon on your desktop (open that) otherwise if you used the default install location you can find it in C:\Garmin (open MapInstall) 11. MapInstall will find your device - either select your device or the removable card location 12. Unlock your maps using the KeyGen provided <if you cannot unlock your maps - while MapInstall is running in the task bar right click on it and select "unlock maps" select "add" and enter the unlock code from the keygen 13. Click on the maps you want to install - goes by state - highlight the maps you want and click next - then finish 14. disconnect your gps device and go to settings\map\map info and check the box of the maps you wish to use Hope it works for you... Did you guys download the Megaupload links or the Rapidhsare links? Kaos may have altered the rapidsharedownload to get rid of the ISO, and if that is the case I don't know how to tell you to proceed. BUT Al if you are trying to run the install from inside the RAR like you were doing on the other file it wont work. You have got to extract them and then run the installer.

Thanks Yall. I already got GMXT, and confirmed I'm getting a GPS signal in GMXT. Just need the maps now. Downloading from rapidshare (Taking forever on T1 even). I haven't seen anyone confirm they have this working on a Sprint Touch with a GPS rom. I'll let yall know how it goes assumng i can get the Power ISO to work. Props.
Edit: By the way, I didn't even need to use Power ISO afterall. It ran from my desktop after I extracted it anyways. Seen some people have had to do the mount, others have not. Don't know why. EDIT: WOO HOO. Transferring maps now. Gotta go test it out. Edit: this is way too sick. I do think that now my touch is up to par with your moguls. No more touch bashing yall. Ha... Seriously worth the time to put this on my phone. Esp since telenav isnt supported for the touch yet and they want you to pay for it. Thanks again, and id also like to thank god, and most importantly the academy, and all the little people that made this possible. Peace.... Last edited by sl8dogg; 06-06-2008 at 06:53 PM. |

Get unit is within the garmin program. Not the phone menu settings. Hope that helps, cause it works. Go in garmins menu to settings unit id.

How do I get the unit id#? I click on find device in the Get unit ID Box and it does not give me a unit id or a choice to pick a device it just says some devices were found but do not have the capabilities. make sure unit is turned on and connected to computer. you may also need to set the interface option on your gps to garmin or host? thank you for your help |

I'd try the rapidshare one next. It may well be Vista being "special" but I don't know. I'm on XP. I used the rapidshare if I remember correctly and it worked fine. Make sure you have all of the files in the split archive before you extract.

It was Vista!
It nice when you burn an ISO with Nero under Vista & you reinsert burned DVD to launch and Vista says its a "blank disk". But when you run same DVD on XP it works just fine. Well thats the story, installed thru an XP machine & all is working. Thanks |

About how much space will these maps take up on the SD card? I am starting to really regret going with the 2GB SD.

for all of new england it took like 300 mb...depends how many maps your putting on and which states and stuff :) i would switch to a 4 gb card if you plan on doing a lot with your phone! only like $45 at sprint now i think.. and you can find them wayy cheaper online! try a site like slickdeals.net and you may find good deals on 4gb microsd cards :D

I think you can get the entire mapset onto your card in a little less than a gig. Going with a 4 gb card is definitely the way to go. You can find them online very reasonably priced. Meritline.com has the 4GB card SDHC type for $21.99 and no shipping cost. I believe the 6800 can handle SDHC now.

Just a note on the whole ".iso" vs. "folders" trouble - I am using a mac, and like some others, extracting the .zip file produces files and folders, not an .iso image file.
As long as you follow the original instructions (especially all of step 2) as best you can, this won't cause problems. **EDIT** I also did it on my XP system and got the same thing. . . files and folders, not an .iso Last edited by 1pensfan; 07-18-2008 at 10:18 AM. |

Awesome app! Works great on my 6800 with Mobile XT and also was able to install entire Michigan Snowmobile maps that lay over top of the CNNA NT 2009 map. This is one of the best apps I've downloaded for my phone, only second to WeatherPanel!

Hey guys,

the megaupload link for part1 works just fine, i just did it. there is also a link to the ISO file posted on there too.. not sure what you are having problems with.

Correct, the link is fine. It takes you to a mega-upload page, and you have to enter a 3 digit combination in a box on the top left (the sites way to make sure your not a bot) then it will redirect you to the download page where you can choose free download or premium download.:)

Greetings All,
After reading all the posts on this topic, I am continuing to have an issue. Installing City Navigator and unlocking the maps on my XP desktop was a cinch. The issue arises after I transfer the selected map to my Mogul. After starting up the unlocked Mobile XT on my device, the maps are detected, but I am then informed that my maps need to be unlocked. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Excellent site by the way. Thanks in advance. |
