Samsung phones get September 2026 Google Play System update

Google has started rolling out the September 2026 Google Play System update to Samsung smartphones, with the Galaxy S26 series units running One UI 9.0 (Android 17) in India seeming to be among the first devices to get it (via S M A Sithick). The update is 96MB in size.



As usual, Google has not provided a changelog for it. While Google System Services Release Notes provide some insight into what the update may include, there’s no confirmation that the update for Samsung smartphones includes all those and/or other changes.



To check if Google has made the September 2026 Google Play System update available in your country and for your Samsung smartphone, go to Settings > About phone > Software information > Google Play System update. If you see an update, tap on Download and install to get it.



Note that the September 2026 Google Play System update for various Galaxy smartphones may have different sizes, as is usually the case with such updates. After installing it, you should see September 1, 2026 in the Google Play System update field in Software information.
