New gaming monitors from ASUS and MSI use Samsung’s new QD-OLED panels

Earlier today, Samsung's display manufacturing division announced that it has developed a new QD-OLED panel that offers higher brightness and sharper text. ASUS and MSI have revealed their new gaming monitors, and we now know that they use Samsung's newer QD-OLED panels.



ASUS PG32UCDM3 has a BlackShield Film coating for improved blacks



The ASUS PG32UCDM3 features a 32-inch 4K screen that uses Samsung's fourth-generation QD-OLED panel. It has a 240Hz variable refresh rate, 300 nits SDR brightness, 1,000 nits peak brightness, 10-bit color depth, a 99% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro.








It has Dolby Vision, HDR10, and VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black certifications. It also features a BlackShield Film coating that offers improved blacks in brighter rooms and improved hardness.



It also features improved connectivity. We are looking at a DisplayPort 2.1a port (UHBR20 with 80Gbps bandwidth), two HDMI 2.1 ports, one USB Type-C port with 90W Power Delivery output for charging, three USB Type-A ports, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a built-in KVM switch. Its stand supports height, swivel, and tilt adjustments.



With its Neo Proximity Sensor, it detects if a user is away from the screen and turns off the monitor to save it from pixel burning. This sensor, coupled with Samsung's EL 3.0 OLED material, improves the screen's lifespan compared to earlier models.



MSI's new QD-OLED gaming monitors have DarkArmor Film



MSI has unveiled two new gaming monitors: MPG 322UR QD-OLED X24 and MAG 321UP QD-OLED X24. Both use Samsung Display's fourth-generation QD-OLED panels with the EL 3.0 material. They have the DarkArmor Film coating that improves scratch resistance by 2.5x and has deeper blacks (up to 40%) when viewed in bright rooms or around bright light sources.



Both models have 32-inch 4K QD-OLED panels with a 0.03ms response time, 300 nits SDR brightness, up to 1,000 nits peak brightness, 178-degree viewing angles horizontally and vertically, 10-bit colors, and a 99% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut. They also have AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black certifications.



MSI’s A.I. Care Sensor offers burn-in protection to increase the display's lifespan. They also have a DisplayPort 2.1a port, HDMI 2.1 ports, a USB Type-C port with increased Power Delivery output, and a few USB Type-A ports.
