Samsung USA honors veterans at 9th Annual Veterans Day Luncheon in South Ca

The arrival of Samsung Electronics Home Appliances (SEHA) in the USA in 2017 has had a noticeable positive impact. After choosing Newberry County as the location for its first appliance manufacturing facility in the United States, SEHA became a vital part of the local economy, generating over 1,500 jobs.



In addition to the impact Samsung has had on the economy, it also sought other ways to contribute to the community. And at the beginning of November, SEHA hosted the 9th Annual Veterans Day Luncheon in Newberry.



Since its arrival in Newberry County in 2017, Samsung has tried to enhance the lives, experiences, and opportunities for military communities and has worked closely with organizations such as the Freedom and Hope Foundation and The American Legion.



Because SEHA's home appliance factory in Newberry County created new jobs and more local business opportunities, the phenomenon was named the South Carolina Samsung Effect.



Every year since 2017, the company has hosted the Veterans Day Luncheon. And earlier this month, after honoring veterans at Newberry's Veterans Day Parade for the 9th consecutive year, SEHA provided 650 meals to veteran families who attended the event, all through a drive-thru luncheon at the local Veterans' Affairs office.



The company also prepared outdoor seating for veterans and families who wished to enjoy their meal while listening to live music.

The General Counsel at SEHA said, “Veterans hold a special place in our community, our company, and our hearts. We look forward to continuing our efforts and showing the local community how important they are to the success at Samsung.“



Ever since Samsung established its home appliance factory in Newberry County, the company has created new jobs and helped local businesses, including restaurants, grow through symbiotic business relationships. The effect SEHA has had on Newberry is undeniable.



Samsung has become a part of the local economy and community. But honoring veterans every year is one way for SEHA to contribute further and show appreciation.
