Is this Samsung’s Exynos and Snapdragon plan for the Galaxy S26?

It's looking increasingly likely that Exynos will take the lead on the Galaxy S26 series. The company's appears to be in a good position to produce the Exynos 2600 at the scale needed to deliver tens of millions of chips that will ultimately be used in the new handsets.



However, there is also the expectation that the latest Snapdragon chipset will be used in the Galaxy S26 Ultra, at least in some markets. A new rumor claims to lay out what Samsung's plan is for this chipset split.



It's nothing we haven't seen before



The rumor originates from the X echo chamber where it's claimed that there's a high chance of Samsung going fully Exynos for the Galaxy S26 series in its home country of South Korea. This would suggest that even the Galaxy S26 Ultra offered in South Korea will be Exynos only.



The company is also reportedly going to use Exynos in most regions outside the United States, China, and Japan. All three models would thus be powered by its own chipset in most markets, making it clear that Samsung intends the Exynos to take the lead on its next flagship lineup.



The Snapdragon is expected to be used for the Galaxy S26 Ultra only. Based on the information that has surfaced so far, both the Galaxy S26 and the Galaxy S26+ will use the Exynos chipset exclusively in all markets across the globe.



There would likely be some grumbling from fans in markets where the Snapdragon iteration of the Ultra isn't available, but it's not something that Samsung hasn't had to deal with before, and it won't really weigh down on sales that much. Besides, early reports suggest that the Exynos 2600 is shaping up to be a very capable chipset.
