This is information we already know about but does indeed confirm that somewhere on the horizon is a Touch Pro 2 for Sprint. Also notice it says Windows Mobile 6.1 so this should kill any rumors about Sprint pushing the release date back for Windows Mobile 6.5 release.

yeah looking forward tothis one... althought we could still be months away. we were testing and using the palm pre for over a month before it was released so hopefully we get it in 2009 but idk... looks good! the touch pro is no longer available from the warehouse so this has to be coming soon!

i agree w/ u bro not digging the the back cover looks cheap, but if it makes it easier on the wallet then thats ok, theres always ebay, as for the stock theme that can allways be changed. i really want to know if it like the telus version has the 3.5mm headset jack. i sure hope verizon doesnt jack this one up like they did touch pro (RIP).

Bro it's much bigger than touch pro + it's WVGA res instead of VGA so that's 2 thumbs up from me!! Check out youtube bro plenty of comparisons to show the touch pro beside the touch pro 2...
oh... and the speaker phone..... the gave this speaker phone steroids compared to the touch pro speaker phone. It's designed for conference calling and works just by sitting the phone down on it's face. The same way you mute the touch pro when on a call. several people can talk at the same time instead of the standard speaker phone is 1 at a time or it cuts out.

well what that means if your referring to my 1st sentence.... is the touch pro 2 has MUCH better screen resolution!!!! Like high definition waaaaayyy better than the pro screen... and BIGGER.... plus the fact that it tilts up at an angle make good for watching a movie on that sucker.. or pictures as well..... especially the good ones, haha...

the gsm battery cover was nice, hopefully our isn't the one in the screen shot! I mean, it's whatever if I don't like it I will make it my own and paint it put a gloss on it or something, but the gsm version that is silver with the speaker that goes all the around it is reallly nice!

i would say they are equal but thankfully there is a fix to both with rit dye to dye them nasty red rubber grippers on the back at least which should clear up the look some in my opinion

thats gunna hurt bcuz with the tp it set us aside from verizon/att versions.. imo sprint got the short end of the stick. they shouldv got the same one as shown on htc website (including chrome and WAYYYY batter bat cover) Now im really not sure if i wanna get it, oh well i guess ill get a TP :ghost:

And another thing i happen to notice is the tilt screen looks like it itsnt stable.. (when compared to the Nokia N97)

man that battery door looks like it came all the way here from the Vietnam war and ****. looks like something my grandfather kept in his shed outside underneath all his welding gear for scrap. horrible! I will def be changing the looks of that asap if that is what we getting. as far as the tilt goes, I believe it is pretty stable but the batt door has to go!

the tilt on the screen is osmething that htc has mastered and it works fine..... its not really loose where it will wiggle or slowly fall down due to gravity pushing on it.... they are usually made with pre-tigtened and bent springs and hinges that wont loosen worth **** untoil years later...... i trust them and will be getting one since th ebattery cover can be changed as well as the boring theme.... but remember the theme has a chance to change still lots of tim,e and the saame goes for the battery cover sicne we arent sure this is what they are going to add and why go red o nthe basck? still doesnt make sense to me

I could imagine refurb TP2 would have some problems in the future due to the hinge. But the tilt option is nice though for watching/sharing sharing a video on the table with your buds.. or just yourself :D Oh well.. time will tell...

My site just happens to handle customer service for Sprint so we get the latest and greatest information as soon as it comes out. I, like must of us, have been fiending for the TP2 to release since the playbook got leaked. Well I believe that I can ease everyone's pain. Foregoing any unexpected delays, I found in our Device Launch Calendar just today {I've been checking on a daily basis since June} and the Touch Pro 2 is scheduled to be released on 09/08/09! This is reliable information. If I can find a way to get a screenshot without getting into any lgal trouble, I'll post it as soon as I can. I will also keep everyone informed if any thing changes as for the release. Keep in mind, I cannot be for sure as to whether or not this will be the national launch date or a pre release launch for business markets or telesales. Won't have that info until closer to the actual launch, but again...I will keep you all informed as new info arises.

Werd.. the hardest part of getting a new phone on release day is waiting for a rom to come out.. i mean a GOOD rom that kinda why imma wait till 1/2010 till i get mine (well that and to see if someone gets it for me for Xmas) as far as the themes, im more then sure theres threads made specialy on xda after all overseas the tp2 is out so ppl themed it minutes after getting it.. i know imm gathering up all the manila files so i can start on it ASAP

Ok, fellas...quick update. So far the launch is still scheduled for 09/08/09. I just talked to my mans that works at my local store, trying to get on a reserve list for the pro2. He tells me what they are hearing at his location is that the initial launch date is most likely correct, but it looks as though it will be a Direct Ship date and that it won't be available in store for a while. In other words, if you want the phone at launch you'll have to get it through telesales or the website. Not positive if care will be able to order it at direct launch as of yet, but as usual, I'll keep you all posted.

Any chance insurance will be letting you upgrade from the pro? My pro's screen just broke and i got 60 days to make the claim. I'm wondering if I should just suck up not having a screen for a little while or if i would be wasting my time waiting for nothing.

They wont let you upgrade for free until they run out of refurbed TPs. I mean, you can always call up and try and work your magic, but on the whole...they like to get rid of there refurbs before offering up there newer models.

yeah that's what i thought, but when i had my mogul, i talked them into sending me a diamond so i started googling this morning to see if people were still able to get that result and i found that people were able to pay them like 20 bucks and get an upgrade. This was with verizon but i'm wondering if anyone has heard this for sprint. Especially since they are doing the tier 1=50 bucks and tier 2 = 100 bucks.

ps. Oh and the touch pro 2 is on the list for tier 2 replacements. that's what got me so excited.

It is a possibility that the Pro 2 will be available as a replacement to the Pro. It all depends whether the Pro is in stock or not. When I was a tech for sprint, the pro was available as a replacement for the mogul for a while. This happened off and on. Your best bet is trying to do an advanced exchange through sprint about a couple of weeks after the pro 2 is released. Go to sprint.com and use the self service replacement option as long as you have insurance you should not be charged. WORTH A SHOT.

do i need to have the 7$ insurance or the regular insurance? and when i took my pro to the store, they said that there was physical damage (even though the damage had nothing to do with my screen going out. sucks) so will the self service option will work.

Besides ebay how are you guys getting rid of you phones, that battery cover hurts to look at. Most that have the TP signed for the 2yr contract to get it. so by the time TP2 comes out it will only be a year. Kinda makes me feel like I have an iphone , every year a new model is coming out. Next year will be TP3, any word if this will have touch Flo 2.6?

The september 3rd date is for direct ship only then september 8th it will be available in stores.

yup jst supply and demand but some devices take forever..... the 6700 came out how long ago and they still have replacements through the online tool..... for those not familiar with the apache it was what turned into the mogul and than to the touch pro and now the touch pro 2..... i dont think that there will be a three i feel they will come up with a new snazzy name and not loimit names like apple does.... come on anyone can add 3g and 3gs to a name and make it new..... be creative, make the name stick and stand out from the rest.
