It only fills if you tap the tab, otherwise it just sits there. No different than having multiple tabs open while talking to multiple people.

i dont think it is, word of warning though from other users whom have downloaded and are using it - it now includes ads on your interface, so if you think you had small chat space before, ads from dell, hp, etc now fill up some more space
