Newbie customizing phone for Elderly XV6900

Hi all,

My name is Jadie and I am trying to find a phone for my elderly (88)mother to use. she is very forgetfull and non techincial. There is a phgone called jitterbug out there but it is a little expensive, plus its a flip phone and I prefer a always open phone. My carrier is Verizon and they have no simple phones such as the jitterbug available. I did notice the XV6900 device. I was wondering if it can be customized so that the initail start-up screen could show only 3 large icons...1) for 911....2) for my number and 3) for my sisters number? Ther is no need for anything else. So my MOM could simple touch any one of the 3 buttons and get connected?

Any help would be appreciated and thanks for all that host and particpate on this forum. A thankless job many times :)

you could do that but i wouldnt want her to have a ppc since she might need it in emergencies and they may need to be reset or may start getting buggy and all...... i would stay to another basic phone and maby talk to them because they may have a phone somewhere or may be able to look through the donate bin and find one for you that would be suitable.

hey bro, you might want to try this, I know its for kids but it has only five buttons on the device and has two that are dedicated to only calling "mom" and "dad". I think that you could set those buttons to have your sister's and your numbers in them. I think one of the carriers sprint/tmobile/verizon/at&t have something like this and i think you could go prepaid. Hope this helps.
