Telus Vogue

Well im pretty new to cellphones in general and especially smartphones but someone i know got an htc touch vogue from telus (in canada) on a contract and then ended up selling me the phone for $50 while it was still under contract but it was cut off shortly after. From what i can see theres no actualy sim card where the sim slot is but theres a cover on it that im not sure is supposed to come off. Basically im wondering if its possible to go in and activate the phone with a new plan or something and not pay the other persons outstanding contract, or better yet use it with Bell instead since i prefer bell over telus.

the vogue is a cdma phone & there has no sim card. you need an ELF i believe. that is the GSM version of the HTC Touch. You just call your cdma carrier with the ESN & they activate it for you. the GSM networks allow sim cards to move from phone to phone.

Yes, you need to have service with a CDMA carrier from the makers of the phone. And as the user below said, there is no SIM card in CDMA. Only GSM has SIM cards. As long as your friend hasn't reported the phone stolen, then you can activate it on your account. But it has to be with the correct carrier.
