Using SMS on a Windows Mobile device can be annoying because the messages aren't threaded This is a feature that we've hoped Microsoft would have included by now, but they haven't VITO Technology has recently released a solution for those of us that crave IM-like SMS conversations as found in other operating systems Is SMS-Chat just a novelty, or does it make SMS much more usable Read on to see

The hot factor for this application is that it threads the messages together It is not as sophisticated as other applications that thread messages such as Extreme Text on the Motorola Q, however SMS-Chat works with the operating system rather than the make of phone, so it has more usability despite being a less sophisticated product There is certainly room for development as you'll see soon

The new version of SMS-Chat supports black skin in HTC touch style Other minor changes include:
The notification window disappears when you tap the screen outside it
When clicking the cross icon the notification closes and message shows as unread in chat
Quick scroll has appeared for long chats
Clicking the name in the chat opens a contact details
It is possible to minimize the application right from the chat
Dates in chats are shown the same way as in the WM system

Templates for quick answers
Forward, resend or delete messages
Active links and phone numbers, onscreen alerts
Multiple sms sending

why when I try to dl the cab it asks me to log on to your server. (i'm using your Wckediden site link program)

when you say "threaded" does that mean it continues the whole SMS message with one contact like IM's do???

I've seen other smartphones that do this, and was just curious if there was a way to make my 6800 do it?

all things are possible thru Wckediden !!!! lol..........

the cab won't open for me either?

yes thats exactly what this does and you can get this stock in WM 6.1 also..... (there is a stock if you want to stay stock with sprints roms :<) what do you mean the cab wont open for you?

when I click on the cab file a pop up window comes up and it's a roadrunner site, and says "sorry we cannot locate rapidshare.com" ???

anyways, so what do you suggest, updating to windows 6.1 or what? how do i do that?

and IF I do the upgrade, will it mess up my swcked mobile shell or anything?

yes everything will be gone on a flash but trust me its well worth redoing it :> you can find the tutorial for flashing in my signature. and did you try all the links? there are mirrors posted so if one goes bad theres still others to download from.

no, no, im tooo much of a noob to be doing "rom flashes", i told u that scares me...........lol !! seeing as I bought my phone on ebay and dont have any insurance on it, i'm trying to be careful about this stuff, can i not just "upgrade" to wm 6.1 and it still be safe without "flashing" the rom thing?

no you need to flash a rom to change the os.... and i bought phones off ebay in the past and got insurance on them no troubles.

ok i got the sms chat thingy working on my phone now, except all my "messaging" links and icons still go to the "old" way of texting....

is there a way to change the link to go to the sms chat, u know so i can use that as my "default" chat???

if not, i have to get to it through a couple of more clicks is all.....
