ONLY download music on limewire...nothing else...and thats if you only want individual songs...try not to use it if you like an artist use torrents or rapidshare.

me personality i dont like any of those proggy ..depend what you download are infected with virus and can have an effect to your computer.I must have cleared two of my friends computer from 20,000 virus when there kids was downloading music from limewire and i have the log to prove it..

I stick with warez site and get them that way.

if your really worried about it and unless you have a bad ass virus protection don't use limewire theres is how ever one call frostwire, w/frostwire your not connected to the network every time you turn on your computer, but like with anything be careful downloading

first tip do not download limewire. i had to do a research project on it a year back and believe it or not it has adware and spyware IN the installer its self.

fyi thepiratebay.org FTW...

it use to be torrentspy buttt the dam legal system shut em down :(

i don't like piratebay cuz every dang torrent i get to is mostly fake. so i avoid that. i frequent mininova and demonoid and an asian one

i remember that... and on anther forum i go to for gaming someone got a letter from his isp and has the torrent list he downloaded and was told to remove it and was banned from the websites and another infraction would get him kicked out of the isp... he was caught downloading madden 09 for the psp...
so wait one good week for fresh torrents to cool down or else you might have to pay more than $60 for a game or $10 for a movie... damn isps

there is a site that test to see if you isp messes around with your downloading and stuff like that just need to find the magazine that has it... and ill post it damn comcast messed with mine... and anyone hear about that isps might start charging per Gig. more internet you use more they charge you so its no longer unlimited (happen soon) comcast reported to be testing this out in couple cities...

now that you mentioned it, one day comcast called me and said i was using too much data haha over 300GB one month. he asked me what i was doing. i was i dunno maybe there's a data leak haha he was like that's the usage for commercial and i was personal use :brows:

well believe it or not if you check the origin of the torrents out now about 80% of them originate on pirate bay...

as for them being fake thats where reading coments comes into play. atm i have downloaded the folowing from piratebay.

adobe master collection
adobe studio 8 (got before master collection came out)
corel drawwings
navigation maps for garmin 2008
corel x4 set
corel drawwings
tajima pulse
bryce 5.5
autodesk 3d studio

and yes i do only dl graphics programs lol

i do read the comments. thanks for suggesting. i know most come from piratebay. what i meant was if they got like dennisstalker or something like that

If you must use Limewire, please make sure you:

1. Only download movies that have a file size of 500MB or higher for a full lenght feature.
2. OInly download music that have a file size of 2500kb or higher to avoid fakes.
3. If you have not downloaded something, yet in Limewire it appears as "checked", be careful. That might be malicious.
4. If you must download software, think about the file size (again). It should be at a minimum of 1 CD worth of space (500MB+).
5. Stick to files that have information under the "#" column. That means they will d/l faster and chances are have been weeded out of bad stuff.

Limewire is cool when closely watched!!, WHEN!! you are done downloading make sure you cmpletly close out of that thing because if you try to o on line or do anything else, your computer will be VERY VERY! sluggish due to limewire running in th background.
