gps on new touch

I was told by a sprint worker at a sprint store that the new touch's that r coming in have gps unlocked already on them, has anyone heard of this???

yes they are releasing the official gps rev a rom oon on the site so when that drops the phones willhave it stock on them at the sprint store.

sweet cause i am getting a new one in 24-72 hours and was told they were coming already with gps, thank god for insurance cause my old touch keeps powering off, so i guess it will work out,i just wasn't sure cause i hadnt read anything like that.....ps..we will still win the cup..lol

This is some encouraging news. I finally broke down and tried using the Alltel Rom upgrade to get Rev A and GPS, but i still feel like there's a little bit missing in terms of connection speed. The worst part is that can't go to Sprint customer service with an "Alltel" phone. =0) I hope that this is going to be sooner rather than later like when we first heard about the ROM update coming out at within Q1.

I'm using that right now with any problems because I'm impatient and something about that alltel wizard just bugs me...

i just got my new touch and am having a hell of a time trying to get gps working, it wont let me download sprint nav..the radio and rom look the same as the previous one..i dont know...

whats the rom number might not have it.... under settings/system/device information

1.12.651.1, i tried getting my loc in google maps but i got the same answer as in someone elses thread, it kept saying searching for satalittes and said my handset in not supported for my loc so i am following their advice and downloading new version...

its just getting emergency gps.... that is still the stock rom that came with the phone when it was released.
