Any idea why I seem to be the only one who is unable to unlock the maps?
Everything seemed to go ok. Got app installed on TP, and maps installed on pc. I get the 'unit id' (device shows up as Garmin Mobile XT) and the unit id in mapsource matches the app.
The only thing that doesnt match the instruction is it doesnt ask for if I have a 25 digit key. It brings up a window that allows me to 'add unlock region' - when I put in the key it comes back with "Map product not installed'
Any ideas?

Nevermind... I'm an idiot.. was generating the wrong key.. apparently there are 2 'Generate' keys on the keygen :poster_oops:

I used this on my Garmin Nuvi 200 and it installed the new maps - I was able to see the maps on my Garmin in settings\map\map info

I don't know how to overwrite the current 2008 maps. Mine came with City Navigator Lower 48 States NT 2008. And I'm not quite sure how to remove it.

The nuvi does not have a lot of extra room on it to load additional maps. I bought an sd card (came with adapter) and loaded all the maps in this update to it and have the option of selecting them under map info.

Here are the steps I used
1. download all 5 rar files and keygen

2. combined using 7-zip (winrar would work too)

3. that gave me Garmin Mapsource City Navigator North America NT 2009 Update as a zip folder - unzip that to a folder on your desktop

4. from that folder run Garmin Mapsource City Navigator North America NT 2009 Update\Windows\Msi\CNNANT2009Update_ENU

5. from the nuvi (before you synch it) select settings\system\about and write down the Unit ID

6. Launch the KeyGen and input the unit ID

7. Skip to the bottom and select <custom mapset> and then enter 325 in the box

8. click generate on the bottom right and write down the 'unlock code'

9. Synch your GPS device to the computer

10. Step 4 should've put a map install icon on your desktop (open that) otherwise if you used the default install location you can find it in C:\Garmin (open MapInstall)

11. MapInstall will find your device - either select your device or the removable card location

12. Unlock your maps using the KeyGen provided <if you cannot unlock your maps - while MapInstall is running in the task bar right click on it and select "unlock maps" select "add" and enter the unlock code from the keygen

13. Click on the maps you want to install - goes by state - highlight the maps you want and click next - then finish

14. disconnect your gps device and go to settings\map\map info and check the box of the maps you wish to use

Im stuck at the part in Mapinstall where it says the following map products are locked it say City Navigator 2009 but if I try to unlock it it ask me for the MAP ID code (on the gen) where do i get that?

there was a keygen provided....go back and read the first post and follow it step by step...

when i was installing the maps, which i got to work after following the directions. thanks, it said there was an update to the maps..will the updates work or no?

also, i went to my subscription status and it says im using the free subscription..but i have done the kegen that was there for it.

subscription will show free...its the maps you unlock.....idk about update...i will check it..if it says unlcked and you can view them then ya...lol

alright heres the deal there is newer maps for 2009. version 11 latest released a few weeks back.I got my hands on them as we speak.. new keygen as well..So i am testing if all good. I will upload tomorrow with keygen and detailed instructions...they are larger old database was 1.01 gb new is 1.06gb so must be a lot of new construction and poi...aka points of interests..

ya i just did it..took all of 20 minutes copied really fast...

same type of thing copy them in mapsource...drag over and sync to device its simple...i already got another thread made and ready to post...the files are compressing...im a start upload go to bed...ill post it up in the am....ill leave a redirect here for it,,,,,,
