Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra could have worse battery life than Galaxy Tab S11 Ultr

A report about Samsung’s next flagship tablet, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, suggested that the brand would equip the upcoming model with the same battery as its predecessor, the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra. This means we won’t see any battery capacity upgrades.



Despite that, there were expectations that the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra could offer longer battery life thanks to the energy-efficiency improvements of the newer processor it is expected to use, the Dimensity 9500. Unfortunately, it may not only fail to deliver a battery life improvement but could actually offer worse battery life than its predecessor.



The EPREL labels for the Galaxy Tab S12+ and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra have now surfaced online, courtesy of Roland Quandt.



According to the labels, both the non-cellular and cellular variants of the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra are rated for 88 hours and 54 minutes of battery life on a single charge. That’s around six hours less than the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, which is rated for 94 hours and 51 minutes.



That’s despite the upcoming model reportedly having the same screen size as its predecessor. In other words, there’s currently no information explaining what may have caused the EPREL-rated battery life to drop by around 6%.



As for the Galaxy Tab S12+, its EPREL label says that the tablet's non-cellular as well as cellular variants will offer 80 hours and 34 minutes on a single charge, similar to the Galaxy Tab S11.
