oh but as far as this app goes, i think i like it alot. the local stations by GPS is a really neat feature that other devs should begin implementing imo. neat little app imo, works great!

says cant establish network connection. can this not be used on alltel/.

i doubt it is provider dependent. just requires an online connection. just so ya know i didn't have to do anything to get it online. i assume you are using the data connection? have you tried wifi?

no i havent tried wifi. but my data connection should be working. is there any setup stuff i gotta do?

It's working for me on Bell in Canada ... although it does drop out sometimes, but that might be because we have bell/telus sharing towers around here.

ok it started working. and its cool that there are police scanners on there, but they only play for 15 seconds and cut off. is there a reason for this? are they illegal?

my guess would be just losing reception from them moving and you moving.... they are very touch and we have mad problems with them when the cops are here at the hospital... always fading in and out. dont use that feature so i really dont know though.... just listen to the beats.

It will depend on the radio system that the jurisdiction you are listening to is using....digital or analog and also if the system is a trunkated design or not...the system that we use is digital base, currently running analog, but the way that the transmissions are broadcast varies....you will hear one part of a conversation via one "frequency" but the response will be on another...scanners dont know how to keep the two going in one line for the whole discussion....thats the best that i remember from my radio class when we upgraded......may not be technically perfect, but the right basic idea....
