WM6.5 QVGA[/RIGHT]

Hi guys,

This is a happy day today for all of us QVGA users as new version of Manila have been leaked. Youhouuu!!!

The great thing with this Manila version is that it comes from HTC Mega (which is not even officially announced yet :eek:) and has native QVGA screen resolution so there is no need for porting or resizing of application.

NOTE:
Originally Da_G posted Mega packages for cookers so they can cook into Roms. I just made a quick cab so anyone can benefit and try out before your favorite cookers will release new Roms. Making cabs still takes some time so I'll add other Mega cabs later
It is released as is, so it may or may not work on your device

WHATS NEW IN THIS VERSION?
Currently in testing phase ....

- it has new folderview (bugless finally), works flawlesly, also All settings soft key now is working properly with WM6.5.
- it uses a little less RAM (about 15% less)
- it does not include anymore footprints widget (there are all settings in xml file, but no bitmaps. Maybe copying pngs from older version it may work. The same for TV widget)
- there is new Sound Control canvas in settings tab
- there is new Mail Setup canvas in settings tab (needs Email Setup Wizard and New Mail Account cabs to work, link below)

In general there is no big difference between previous version and this, just some bug and compatibility fixes. In my opinion the biggest change is HTC new approach to finger friendly menus, settings and applications in tight integration with Manila. The rest you can see in screenshoots.


MUST READ

- original version works only on WM6.5. I included patched version which should work with other phones and WM6.1 (thanks to mbarvian)
- this is only WWE version, it won't work correctly with other languages.
- if you had any previous version of Manila, don't forget to uninstall it and do soft reset before installing this version. Also keep in mind that it will keep your personal settings, like people tab photos, weather cities or launcher number of rows/clomuns.
- there are no anymore Footprints or TVwidget tab, by enabling those Manila won't start.
- Manila customizer theme manager won't work properly also change internet browser won't work
- to set Opera as default browser in Manila you need to change following registry settings:

\HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila2D\InternetWidget\
"OperaEXEFile"=<Path to Opera>
"WebBrowserType"=dword:00000001

As I already told this version of Manila is very tightly integrated into HTC Mega package and it is almost impossible to have clean standalone version. Nevertheless it is possible to run it with minimum requirements without problems, so don't expect to work every single function and module. Also this version is designed for WM6.5 and it will not work flawlessly with WM6.1. You can use patched version included here, but many modules will not work.

To run Manila with base functionality you will need to install these cabs:
(you will have running Manila with basic tabs working. Obviously Album, Audio Manager and Settings tabs won't work or work partly, but it gives aproximate idea ans feeling about this Manila version)

Change The Weather City Or Add Your Own:
What you need:
1) HH_0409_WeatherCities.xml file. I have attached one below which you can use, or alternatively you can copy the one from the your /windows folder.
2) If you don't have the version which is already patched then you will need the N2A patched file attached below as well.

Here are the steps:
1) Open HH_0409_WeatherCities.xml using Notepad.
2) You will see many cities listed like this:
<city name="Anchorage, US" loca="NAM|US|AK|ANCHORAGE " land="United States " /> (original)
<city name="Ketchikan, AK" loca="NAM|US|AK|KETCHIKAN" land="United States" /> (copied and edited)
Simply copy one of the cities from your country, or state and then edit the city information. You will notice in the example above i have changed "Anchorage, US" to "Ketchikan, AK" as this is just what will display on the screen. The section marked loca=con"CONTINENT|COUNTRY|STATE|CITY" must be typed in correctly or else you will not get any data.
3) Repeate step 2 for as many cities as you would like to add.
4) Disable touchflo on the today screen
5) Copy Manila2D.exe (if you are not using the version already patched), and your newly edited HH_0409_WeatherCities.xml file to the /windows folder.
6) Enable touchflo on the today screen again.
7) Go to weather and add new city, the new cities should be available to you. I would remove any old cities you had before as well.

nah I dont thik there an specific order... but I say install them first before activating the touchflo... and yes you should be able to remove hhc afterwards... once tflo is activated you wont even be able to see you regular home screen or any of those changes... itll pretty much be overwritten. Feel free to hit that thanks if i've helped!

ALrighty i did it, and it looks badass lol lovin it, here are the problems i am having tho like i knew i would,
A. how do i get my custom city location in the weather?
B. when i go to photos it doesnt show any of my previous pictures but when i go to album it does, how can i get them to show up.
C. Internet! how can i set up skyfire to come up instead of opera, i didnt dl opera becuase i want to use my skyfire
D. im loving this and if i can fix this all i will be lovin it more lol

A: there are instructions on the first post on custom weather cities
B: it shows only a selected album on the today screen, go to album, go to the folder you want shown, and set it as favorite. it should work n the today now
C: use Manila2DCustomizer M2DC and use the internet settings to set skyfire as the main browser
D: Im sure you will love it more Now

thanks so much for the help i willl patch this up asap, also i been messing with the photo and videos and i selected all my photos in my albums as favorite and it said that it would now show on the tab but it hasnt

GOT THE weather fixed baby lol, now about my photos and videos not showing up on tab, i am havin trouble with it, when i chose my photos as my favorite nothing happens, but when i a folder in my device it works but those arent where my pictures are stored, could it be becuase i have my photos in my memory card?

OK forget everything else i wrote lol heres where i am @ and what i need:

everythin works fine so far but i still cannot get my photos to show in photo tab,
also in my startmenu i see manila2d as if the program is open (is this normal)? its annoyin and i want to get rid of that. Is there any programs i should remove so it doesnt interfear with tf2d? well other then that its runing smooth , i am havin problems closin apps tho, everythin stays open when i scroll through my tabs.

yeh im lovin it so far but i am a bit confused...im not sure what apps i should have or shouldnt have inorder for m2d to run smooth, also i cant get thumbcal as my default calander or get my photos from SD card to show in photo tab.. other thing, i have manila2d on my start menu as if i have the app runin is this normal? and it seems to not let me close programs like b4... i bascially installed this over everythin i already had so im not sure if i should have things like quick menu and x button installed, any1 can help with these things?

1. you can have both, just uncheck the battery meter in quick menu settings and enable the htc task manager again and it will appear
2. did you set the folder where your pics are in your sd as your favorite??? it has to be one folder only (in case you are trying to add all the pics in the card...)
3. didnt the patch work for ya?? thats how i did it...

open the album app and select the "albums" key, choose "storage card" (sometimes you need to open the albums menu twice for the option to show up) and choose the DCIM folder, select it and when the pictures show up, just mark that album as your favorite.

in my start menu i see manila2d as a open program which i cant close, is this suppose to be this way??

I installed this over the weekend and I have a few Problems that I hope you can help me with.

1) I cant get weateher. I did the edit like instructed but when I go to save it back in windows it wont let me says it is protected.
2) Cant get my favorite people to work or programes. I click on the Plus and it doesnt do anything.

Any help in fixing this is greatly appreciated.

there are certain fixes for this stuff. however from my experience you are best flashing a new rom with m2d integrated, it really just makes things alot smoother, work like they were intended. & you dont have to do any "fixes" to it.

WDM, DETTE both make great roms you should try. i'm using WDM's on my TOUCH & i luv it. way better then manually installing all this.

for these roms you need to have a unlocked phone? and im still trying to map out thumbcal as default any help?

all you need to do is run the unlocker and flash just like any other rom out there.

about the menu, yes its supposed to be like that

go to quick menu option/ exclude/ add manila2d to the list and make it not appear in the menu (bottom options)

I currently have my Vogue on Cricket. Do either of these ROM's work for this? The ROM I have right now works Awesome and everything works so I am afraid to flash it over to a new one and MMS and Internet not work but I love the look of this.

ya there's a soft key app thats lests you map your own soft keys. and walla you have it set as whatever you want aka thumbcal calender.

is the app SSmapa? well i have that app, i see how it works but when i go 2 settings and i try 2 replace my calendar, thumbcal or most of my other apps arent displayed so i cannot choose them.. thats why im lookin for a work around or a fix to this!

then you'll jst have to overwrite the existing calendar. thats the only way i can think of doin it. unless touchflo was designed only to support the original calendar. maybe Mike20PR knows a way around.

hmmm.... you can do that also, back up the calendar.exe in case you need it again, rename thumbcal.exe to calendar.exe and place it in the windows folder

good look out forgot to tell him to rename to calendar.exe thats the only thing i can thing of too since M2D config doesn't give you options to change much.

thanks, i was able to get thumbcal as my default by changing its name and placing it in the windows folder. its all good but thumbcal is not letting me change skins and for example in the thumbcal menu it says
"context. today" normally its just today and so on
"context.filter"
"context.extra"
"context.about"
"context.exit"

OK I DID IT BABY LOL, I AM NOW COMPLETE i got everything up and runin smoothy on my htc touch, fix the calendar by copyin the rest of its files in to windows, damn that thing worked like a charm!

i just want too see how my memory compares to other users who have installed this, remeber i didnt install a new rom i just installed all the apps on top of my touch!

Dette's i havent tried yet, others seem to like it alot. it is setup for the user to specify what carrier using this link below for dcd's carrier cabs & cricket is one of the downloads. so in my estimation you would be able to use dette's without much problems. you should check those threads there & here on Wckediden to see what others are saying about cricket

the reason team htc staff gets the rights to do so is because many of them are rom developers and we want them to be able to edit their own threads when they release a new version of it.

None that I know of, because tf2d is a fullscreen plugin, so it would have to be intergrated into a tab, and I dont think theres one out there yet.

is there a way that i can modify the softkeys for each individual tab? like so i can be on the messaging tab and open up vito sms-chat? or is there a way i can remap the messaging page?

no i dont think that there is in touchflo, but has to be in the registry somewhere.
