Help with issues on Company Mogul

Hi - I modded my company issued Mogul. Didn't flash rom it b/c I think the current rom has things that validate for me to connect to the company network. Otherwise I would be running one of the nice, efficient ROMs on this site. All I have installed:

Ultimate Launch with HHC plug in on it
Pocket Breeze so I can see calendar on one of the sides of UL
Pocket Weather below the HHC
Quick Menu
Slide2Unlock
OpMon to change Sprint PCS to something I want
SK Tools
HTC Performance
FTouchSL

I do Free RAM and other stuff with SK Tools.

So I have issues - it's slow, always out of memory, takes forever to bootup if it even does completely, battery dies fast. Things lockup. I can't use Opera 9.5 seems b/c of the lack of memory.

Any ideas? It seems people are running all this and more with no issue.

Ok there are 2 major issues here and ima break them down for u buddy,
1. You have a mogul and moguls lack in memory
2.your running stock rom, and stock roms for the moguls take up alot of crap on the memory, I suggest u look at my sig on how to flash and when u unlock it, you can flash to kaos take 3 rom b/c its the best rom out now....

right thats what he wanted to do but he cant broski becasue of the stuff in the phone after hard reset that validates it to his company pand all...... i would tell them that the phone is acting messed up and than tell them that you are going to upgrade to the newest stock rom and than get the custom rom and have them add it.... your problem could be that the stuff your company adds could be taking up a lot of space.

and thats another reason why my company upgraded to the touch.........If anything I suggest u tell your company to upgrade the mogul to a touch b/c your mogul doesnt have sufficient memory and when your using one of the programs that u cant b.c of the lack of memory, believe me with the touch U wont worry about memory space, but the only thing is that it doesnt have a keyboard but T9 works better then a keyboard in my case.

Yeah I don't mind no keyboard or not. In fact no keyboard is slimmer right? No deal though, I think the current standard is the Mogul - they must have some deal work out with Sprint. Plus I think they default to one with a keyboard for the majority of the people actually use their phones specifically one thing - email and calendar for work. HA I am one of the few junkies that are trying to do more with this thing.

I might figure out how to back up the current rom and setup, then install Kaos Take 3, then install one of their device management progs and see if that's the only thing needed - I remember sometype automated customization that booted first time I got the phone and that might have been in the their custom rom. Wonder if I can extract that - but again to DASH's point might be their junk that's causing all the memory use. Really it should only be validation network connection to Outlook Exchange.

By the way what are you guys showing as your memory used on the Take 3?

Okay I was able to help the booting process and locking up a little by changing the order of the startup items. They were clashing.

Anybody know how to see what uses up memory? Using Running Programs will show me nothing but still 74% used Memory.

you will need to use an app that reads cpu usage.......... i for get the name but i know we have some on here..... search google for cpu usage on ppc and see iwhat apps you can get it to bring up and see if we got em.... if not request in the correct areas and we will see what we can do.

I have that - SKTools has one inside it that shows CPU usage, but all it does is show me most of it in the System with SKTools popping up here and there as using some.

thats the best way i think that xbutton tells you how much each app is taking up percent wise.

Actually I hear people talk about memaid and xbutton which are apps inside of the SKTOOLs set right? I have 4.1.27 and I don't see those in there. It's a menu of things and you go by category, etc. Kind of hard to navigate or understand actually. I'll do a search on xbutton specifically as well.

no they are both just regular apps you can find here.

So just what is everyone running at memory wise with say the Take 3 ROM? Might be worth backing up the current and giving it a try to see if I can get company stuff to still work - if not I can just restore right?

i wuz dumb like you and i ran off stock rom fer eva.... bigest mistak ei ever made :cry:

i put kaos's newest rom and with almost your exact setup. and im pushing 22-25 mb of ram idle.

3rd active sync drains battery fast. the cure to it is a bit tricky i have yet to do it again since flash but heres link to the fix.

and heres the actual fix.

ActiveSync 4.0 turns on automatically

There were several posts indicating ActiveSync turns on by itself when the Axim is not cradled and eventually drains the battery. It never happens to me. Circumvention provided by Invid:

Disabling automatic syncing (and activesync startup) did. The new activesync is a dog, even worse than it was on WM2003SE and makes my x50v almost useless while running. I will list the steps to disable it. Note that you will still be able to sync, but AS will no longer start up on it's own.

1) Start up AS on your x50.
2) Tap the menu tab/soft key and tap "Add Server Source"
3) Configure a server source with a dummy IP address, user id, password and domain name; these do not have to be real
4) Once configured you should have another sync source show up on your main AS screen...continue on.
5) Tap the menu soft key again and you should see that the sync schedule option is no longer greyed out.
6) Change your schedule from a timed automatic start of AS to manual under both fields
7) If you try to sync now, AS will try to contact your imaginary exchange server and that will take forever until it times out, so you can now delete the exchange server from your list of sync sources. Your changes to the sync schedule will remain and will survive soft resets too.

If you have a switcher app running (like vbar) you will find that when you close AS it will now stay closed and you should see a corresponding increase in speed.

once found disable animations, under powermanagement ENABLE everything.

well thats pretty much all i can say. on my old sprint rom with those battery changes and active sync fix i could go a week of no use on a single battery.
