What's new in V3?

Thanks to our customer feedback and their support to our continueous innovation, there're a bunch of new features in V3:

* Now you can "flow" your keyboard by sliding left or right!
* Support two more layouts: single-key layout and 9-key layout.
* Press-hold a key will expand all the characters on that key, including the accented letters (e.g., "a" for "á").
* Prediction is now based on context.
The New Platform

Each time we released a new version, we made some aggressive optimization in the platform and architecture. This time there's also some big improvements.

* The keyboard is now designed to support a variety of layouts. In addition to the two-key layout, we added the single-key layout and 9-key layout.
* The "Flow" engine can detect your gesture and move up the keyboard.
* SDK tools for building language packs are now available. We will open it to limitted partners who could help us develop more language packs.
* Images are seperated from the DLL and thus make the DLL file much smaller. This would help resolve the loading issue on some resource limitted models.

The New Features

* "Flow" your keyboard - You can switch layouts or turn pages by sliding left or right on the keyboard.
* Skins are supported - You can download different skins or design your own skins.
* Press & hold - For those who don't like sliding, now you can hold a key to expand all the possible characters.
* Change priority of a word in dictionary, or delete a custom word.
* Key press sound effect.
* Prediction based on context - The prediction engine can now guess the word based on what you have typed. For example, if you typed "let" and then type for "us", the word "us" will appear prior to "is".
* Next word prediction - If you typed "look", the word "forward to" will be shown in the candidate list.

Of course, this release fixed a bunch of bugs including the uninstall issue in the previous version.

So I tried installing this after doing a hard reset and again it seems to reset too soon after install (not letting it finish setting up). If no-one else is having this problem, I guess I'm special. If others are, then could I get a fix for it? Thanks.

I appreciate it, but I think it doesn't like me. What I mean about reboot is this - Start the cab, tell it to install (to main memory), it goes through and asks about resolution. The one from the manufacturers web site then asks about what style I want the keyboard in (keyboard, 9 key, etc), asks about the tutorial, then needs to reboot. When I try to install these, after the resolution setting, it goes direct to reboot. After I reboot, it's as if there's nothing installed. Oh well. That's life. Thanks for trying to help, there's so many things that DO help here that I'm not gonna sweat the few that don't.

this is a pre-regged cab that will work for sure theres something on your phone not playing nice with it.......

Man, it's crazy. I upgraded the ROM to the "Official" leaked ROM, pulled the battery, and did a hard reset. First program I tried was this. It doesn't like me, but again, thanks. Seems to be working for others, so I'm not gonna worry. :-)

I'm also having a problem with this keygen. I'm running OMJ's custom rom with WM 6.1 and the Touchpal that came on the rom. I can't get the keygen to work and I can't find the Touchpal folder in Program Files to delete it... Last time I installed touchpal over my existing version it messed everything up. So does anyone have a working keygen or am I just using it wrong? I enter the challange code into the keygen and enter the key on the phone and it comes up invalid...

I did a seach and i read that this app doesnt work well with OMJs rom or the official vogue rom.

there is no keygen the cab is precracked.

Touchpal v3.5 is out... I downloaded the cab and updated from v3 posted here and it stayed cracked. So Im now rocking 3.5. Thanks guys.

well that version isnt full you cant have registered versions in the roms....... and you cant use a version over that and all..... you would need to get a key or use the keygen from the 3.5 version i have posted and see if that works with this version also.

it installs fine on the touch...... i put it on mine when it first came out without troubles at all.... try a sift reset or see if any other keyboards are installed on your device that could be tweaking it out.

ive tried an softreset only thing i got as far as keyboards is this touchpal version v.3 and swcked full screen v.3 and the stock ones that came with the new and latest rom from sprint which now has that qwerty keyboard.

what worked for me was to download the first .cab file titled " Sym-Touchpal v 3" and install it, then use the keygen from the zip file that dash made a link to further down the page... if you are installing the file that is included with the keygen file.. for some reason it does not work... that file seems to be corrupted...

this is wat happens when i try to install on my touch. . .



it installs cab than ask wat screen size do i got. i selecet qvga and than it says it has finished installing please select either yes or no to reboot now to finish installation and thats it. it will reboot and the keyboad is still not there and wont work.

it skips over the step of asking me do i want the "t9" or the "full qwerty" or the "other one with the 2 letters on each key qwerty keyboard"

choose it from the settings and see if that fixes your problem...... under settings ion the start menu

Having the same problem as "schroder08", the .cab files seems to install fine, prompts for a reboot, but after rebooting the keyboard is not installed. I navigated to program files and there is a touchpal folder, but it only has some empty subfolders

Yeah touchpal v.3 won't install on the touch using any WM 6.1 ROM
Wasted like an hour messing around with it.
Kill this thread or link to v3.5 to avoid confusion.

why would i kill this when peopel with WM5 or WM6 may want to use the older version???

i guess you just have to make it clear for us new guys to make sure the app works for WM 6.1 first.

it is clear in every single release in the first post it says requirements and will say what it works for just read the first post beofre you install.

barely got a chance to get back at this post but ya its not even in the options of input in the setting menu. just the stock keyboards and the full screen one by swcked is there

very odd that means you have some app conflicting with it...... what else do you have installed?

I just tried this for the first time on my Mogul, and I'm seeing the same thing. Install says it will complete after reboot, but there appear to be no files in the folders, and nothing in the registry or anything. After reboot, no sign of an installation to continue.

Currently running my first cooked rom (same base as take 3) with Ultimate Launcher, HHC, and a few other toys. Nothing I can think of that would conflict with Touchpal though.

Was thinking I might download the trial from the site and see if that makes a difference.

the mogul has like take 1 or 2 of kaos **** sprint rom.



the touch has the latest rom that was suppose to be the official one from sprint.

thats why it doesnt work on your touch....... the 6.1 that sprint released has some differences in the registry not allowing some programs on our custom roms to be ran on theirs........

Tried v 3 and 3.5 on my tp2 and its not working I had this on my old wing with a custom rom and it was great. Must be the factory rom keeping it from working. Oh well.

they prolly werent working because they dont have the resolution support until that verison....
