This new emulator lets you play Switch games on your PlayStation 5

TL;DR

• A new emulator can natively run Switch games on a jailbroken PS5.
• It runs Cuphead at 60fps, and games like Horizon Chase Turbo and Metroid Dread at 40 to 50fps.
• It also supports docked and handheld modes for each game and includes DualSense controller support.

If there’s one thing that never ceases to amaze me, it’s the sheer resilience of Switch emulator devs who keep releasing new (and usually better) Nintendo Switch emulators in the face of Nintendo’s litigious past. We’ve seen emulators like this for Android phones, Windows laptops, and even macOS. Now, one developer has pushed the envelope and brought native Switch emulation to the PlayStation 5 (as long as it’s jailbroken).

The newly updated ProsperoEden emulator (spotted via VideoCardz) is a port of the popular Eden emulator, which itself was derived from the famed Yuzu emulator (may it rest in peace). While Eden supports several platforms, ProsperoEden is purpose-built to run natively on the PlayStation 5.
