GPS Speed Sentry v1.58

Overview: gps speed sentry is more than just a gps enabled speed monitor/car computer. it monitors your current speed and warns you when you are near or go over one of 6 user defined speed limits, the latest version of the software can also provide warnings about approaching speed cameras.

here is a list of features for gps speed sentry
- 6 user specified speed limits
- audible warnings for over the speed limit and nearing speed limit (these can be muted)
- speed camera warnings (via csv database)
- all sounds can be customised by the user
- units can be in imperial or metric, various combinations can be used (e.g. speed mph & elevation in metres)
- position can be shown in various formats including ordnance survey grid and easting/northing's (for the united kingdom) as well as maidenhead grid locators
- various easy to read information displays (see below)
- large buttons which allow easy changing of display/speed limit (using your finger or stylus)
- day/night colour schemes
- support for portrait and landscape orientations
- support for square screen devices (e.g. hp 6515)
- windows mobile 5 support (including soft keys and gps sharing functions)
What's new in this release:
· fixed issue with warning sound changing the over sound
· added ability to verify (or log) cameras to \my documents\verified cameras.txt (file is tab delimited so excel can recognise it).

Don't know much about this program, but anything that can help me avoid getting a ticket by those damn speed cameras; I'm all about it :)

Will post info once I try the program out...

Thanks, Dash. Your ears must have been burning. I was exchanging emails with Tchart this morning. Wanted to make sure that the speed limits could be set to 1, 2, 3... miles/hour for walking purposes... :-)

Tried this but got the error "GPS port could not be opened" or something to that extent...any ideas as of why I got this error? I tried running goggle maps/sprint telenav because I thought it would use it as a buffer, but no go....

i run without problems you try to soft reset after the install??????? also did you install to the main memory and not the storage card.

Yes, I did the soft reset, but I honestly think I installed it to the storage card; could that be the problem?

yes i would go and reinstall andit will ask you if you want to continue and overwrite the previos install and than choose yes and than once you do tat install to the main memory, soft reset when installed and give her a try.

aghh, I figured it out, under "GPS SETTINGS" it was set on COM1; it needed to be set on COM4...super thanks for all the quick replies you have given me!!!! :)

This app is badass....works perfectly!!!

Now I know how fast I'm going....speedometer has never been accurate since the lift and 35's!!!!!
