Samsung Wallet lets users in India make UPI payments using their fingerprin

Samsung has announced that it has brought biometric authentication to Samsung Wallet for UPI payments in India. With this addition, you can use the fingerprint sensor on your compatible Galaxy phone to authenticate mobile payments.



Once enabled, you can authorize UPI transactions using just your registered fingerprint instead of entering your UPI PIN. However, this feature is only available for payments up to INR 10,000 (~$104).



This update makes transactions faster and more convenient. It also reduces the chances of your UPI PIN being seen by shoulder surfers. The capability has been live for a few weeks, but Samsung officially announced it today and increased the transaction limit from INR 5,000 (~$52) to INR 10,000 (~$104).



Besides UPI payments, Samsung Wallet can store your credit and debit cards, allowing you to make NFC payments using those virtual cards. It also lets you store boarding passes, digital keys, ID cards, loyalty and membership cards, passwords, passkeys, tickets, and vouchers.
