Here are a couple links of some interesting things I came across on the Pre. This 1st link is about dual-booting the Pre with Android. Might find this interesting.. Not that Android is better than Pre Web Os, it just shows the possibility of what can eventually be done with the Pre that will open the door for even more bad ass shit almost like winmo since it is based off Lineux. Also...here is a tip I found on the Pre you might find useful to add web pages to your luncher instead of your bookmarks! You can even get nifty with it if you wanted to and have some hacking/domain tracking sites right on your launcher. I personally just have Wckediden, myspace and facebook so far, but hey...get creative and here's how you do it.

Open the launcher.

Press on the "Web" app.

You can browse using the web app to any online site you choose (facebook, whois, Wckediden, etc) and then press on the menu at the top (it says "Web"), then scroll down to "Page" then hit "Add to launcher". Now you have a hotlink button in the launcher directly to some network tools to scan domains or ip's.

To remove these shortcuts, simply hold down the orange button on the keyboard and click the shortcut in the launcher. It'll ask if you wanna delete it. I thought I would share this info, and will bring more as I get it. I couldn't find the Pre section which I've read we have, so feel free to move and point me in the right direction if this isn't the place for this info. Thanks!!

nice this could be great news and so soon!!! damn palm has always been the best to lock down their stuff so it cant be hacked into and switched around.

It's begun. Although lacking a general release of the SDK, the first homebrew apps have emerged thanks to last night's leaked WebOS root image. The first application puts a stake in the ground by displaying a simple "hello world" on the screen. Unfortunately, the code overwrote the pre-installed Sprint Nascar application... oh wait, that's probably a good thing. Devs have also started tampering with existing code to disable the shutter sound on the camera while leaving the rest of the sounds enabled. Now why would somebody want to do that?

yeah this shits sick...i still cant hack mine though gotta leave it on sprint account until sept so i cant do any of the cool things to it yet! They already ported doom and everything :/

I think we need a Palm Pre section all together. So far I've only found the Palm Pre themes/wallpapers section. I think a dedicated Pre section is and will be needed. IMO anyway, that's my vote.

i have been barely loggin in long enough to suck up what has been goin on here, but yea i believe that i Palm Pre section (like the Fuze has) will be great for news, discussions, and updates to the Palm Pre, i have a ton of things i would like to post there since i found a great source but i rather not cram up the discussion area with all of it

Well there is a WebOS Section available..just in case you didn't already know it's here.. will say that discard the games section because somehow all the original PalmOS games are there those ARE NOT for the PRE. Hopefully that section gets some actin soon!

Hey guys i concur to the a whole new section dedicated to the Pre. Also has anybody heard that sprint is making it mandatory to have the Simply Everything plan when getting the pre. This is Ridiculous why would you need to get the everything plan when someone like me has a pro pack that is practically the same thing. The only difference is that you dont get unlimited minutes who really needs those! So guys what is your opinion on this?

You dont need simply everything. you just need some kind of everything data plan, basically one of the following:

Individual Plans:

450 Minute Everything Data ( Unlim Text/Data/Picmail ) 69.99 / mo
900 Minute Everything Data 89.99 / mo
Simply Everything ( Unlim Everything ) 99.99 / mo

Family Plans:

1500 Minute Everything Data Family 129.99 / mo + $20 per add a line after 2
3000 Minute Everything Data Family 169.99 / mo + $20 per add a line after 2

It's not completely ridiculous and they really arent screwing you over unless you have a family plan that you have 5 phones on and only one person needs data. Then it kinda sucks... other than that you are pretty good to go...oh or if you are grandfathered into the 300 free incoming plan with a data pack... but companies gotta get you off the old plans somehow :P

No you don't have to have "The Simply Everything Plan," just one of the evrything data plans. They start at $69.99= 450min and unlimited data nd messaging. Or the Everything 900=900min + unlimited data nd messaging. Also the family plans that are 1500min Data Share plan for $129.99 or the 3000 Data share plan....Or the Simply Everything Family Paln which is 2 lines unlimited everything for $189.99. So it does have to be on 1 of those everything plans, but you are not required for unlimited minutes. Same as the Instinct.
