uscellular touch pro
 
can anyone lead me to forums for a different roms and upgrades for my us cellular touch pro?
im looking for
- faster speed
- tf3d calendar tab
- wm6.5
- tf3d 2?

im not really a noob its jus im having a hard time choosing and finding things...

why is uscellular unpopular? it seems ok to me

i looked their earlier but i really dnt kno where to start lol. i mean their is so many and alot of them require every other carrier except uscc. do u have any specific recommended uscc roms? jus ur opinion... by the way this site is great! thnx for the reply

Sorry i just noticed that u had us cellular unfortuntly we dont have anthing that would unlock that phone ,what i would do is intall themes and cabs for performance since u will not be able to upgrade to a diff rom

Silly question - your profile says you have a mogul, do you need roms for it or another handset? UsCellular isn't that "popular" just not widely used, so less need for people to have hacks, IMO.

mmmmm i have seen some made and many of them are carrier free so they can be used on any cdma device a long as the rom was made for that exact model.

which carrier free rom would you suggest for me dash? {{jus a lil info}} i guess as far as changing my rom im a noob mainly because i never could find one for uscc phones.. so i never flashed cause i was scared it would brick it.

cant really recommend one but if you ask in the thread i will tell you if it is carrier free.... (will also say in desrciption) but anyways with a rom it is all personal and depends on how tyou use your device.... just look at the changelogs in the first post of the roms thread and you will find all that has been added.

I have another ?... when flashing a rom. will most of roms include updating everything? for example i have wm6.1, with the original tf3d. when i change my rom... is it possible for me to find a rom that will update my phone to wm6.5 and tf3d 2? or will wm6.5 or tf3d 2 be a different install/update??

I read ur noob guide awhile ago and watched and read alot of your tutorials an I feel that they were very helpful. Jus trying to be sure Im reading things right.

yes as the changelogs i pointed you too early state they do have 6.5 and tf3d2 in certain versions... you have to go through the changelog and look at the features to decide what you want to flash.... andmake sure it is labeled to work for the touch pro since no rom will work on it besdies the touch pro rom and vice versa.

Its a great rom fast stable and no feeezes which is very important u dont wnat ur phone to freeze on u while ur on the phone there are so many great roms out there its all about ur taste though,good luck with ur first flash .

I believe this is my last question... lol{{i think}} will i need to keep my original rom? meaningit if i have a physical problem with my phone and i need to send it in.. will uscc get mad because i have flashed so will i need to revert back to my original rom before i send it in?

Well if u ever go to get it repaired or exchanged yes ur gonna have to go back to stock rom and then relock it

ok.. thats good to kno. but i been looking for the actual mightyrom5 but im unsure if im looking at the right one. i found the mighty rom 5 description on the ppcgeeks list of roms for noobs... but i looked on Wckediden and i see a copper rom with mighty and juicy, then i see a mightyrom 4.xx reborn and mightyrom5 in the same thread. and i looked specifically for the changelogs... but honestly i dnt know what that is.

I just find it hard because when I look on the threads for the roms the requirement carriers arent on them.. only on a few. and the steps mentioned on Dash's guide for flashing is really good but when i click on a thread for a rom it doesnt explain its just the rom download.

I thought i was ready to flash but I guess im still learning :). Im going to have to read more.

My first step is learning how to save my original rom and revert back to it if I need to...

What i would reccomend is google ur stock rom bc ur not gonna find it here google it and download it for backup just in case u need it, if u have any luck finding it then read the flash tutorial here then flash good luck

Well u didnt have to download both uscc roms but ur ok just in case huh.

And might rom has tflo3d and wm6.5 he took out tflo3d-2 bc it was to buggy it u was tflo3d-2 ur gonna have to try another rom i ran juicy7 for a while u can take a look at that another great rom lil buggy though ,

And flash tutorial is not a video just gotta read a lil here is the link

1) download Hard-SPL( Raphael_CDMA_HSPL_037.exe) package from attachment, extract to an empty folder.

Ok kool u didnt really have to put that in a folder but its ok now run it double click on it and follow instructions make sure u have the newest .net framework and if u have vista the latest version of wmdc

i download net framework 3.5 and it to bout an hour...


when i try to run the file it wants me to choose a program from the computer to open it...

What is the file called that your trying to open? Tell m the whole name and the file extension.

How to Flash Via PC:

1.download the ruu.zip attachment
2.unzip to your desktop
3.then in the newly created RUU directory add the rom of your choice - (copy the RUU_Signed.nbh to desktop\RUU)
4.Place phone in bootloader mode (power button while holding volume down button)
5.open the ROMUpdateUtility.exe
6.follow the RUU on screen instructions from there

Flash from microSD Card (Thanks to MadlyAlive):

1. Make sure you backup anything that is necessary to your day to day operations! At a minimum, please perform an ActiveSync to Outlook or your Exchange server prior to flashing!
2. Rename the custom ROM NBH file from RUU_Signed.nbh to RAPHIMG.nbh
3. Copy RAPHIMG.nbh to the root of your microSD Card.
4. Hold the Volume Down and Power button simultaneously. While you're still holding those 2 buttons, press the reset button with your stylus.
5. When your Touch Pro tells you to do so, press the power button to begin the flash process. If you do not get the message to press the power button to flash, there is a mistake in the name of the NBH file or you do not have the file at the root of your microSD card.
6. When flashing is complete, perform a soft reset.
I quoted the text from that thread for u, just follow thos instructions, there is also a link to how to unlock...

the unlockler works fine i even updated the link to a woring one..... did you download the 37 one? thats the one that you need.

i downloaded .37 and jr5416 game me a ruu file to download.
and i dnt know what to do with either of these files.




MAIN PROBLEMS IM HAVING
- when i try to run the .37 (by its self) my computer tries to ask me to choose a program to open it... meaning its not goin to run the process by itself

- the ruu file jr5416 gave me, im unsure if its for unlocking or flashing or both
because the link does not explain what it is exactly.


i read the instructions over and over... i dont know what im doin wrong... and i bet unlocking is easy part. maybe if i could get a dummie version of the instructions.... ?? Is it be cause im with a different carrier?


should I give up?

forget about the ruu folder for now... that is for flashing... you wont be using that until u can figure out how to first unlock your phone....

now on to the .37 unlocker, what is the file extension... it should be and exe. file, if not, it may be compressed into a .zip file or .rar file, for that, youll need to extract it, which is why its askin choose a program to open it... u need to use winzip, or better yet wirar, which you can download here off of the site... do a quick search for winrar... use that to extract the file then run exe. file
