I need help
 

So ive been looking around and all these are so confusing to me....i dont get what it means to unlock your phone? its already activated amnd stuff...ive hacked ipods, psps, ds's, and a iphone, but all these is so more confusing....yes i used the search button to...help?
Also what are roms?

ok here we go crash course and you may want to read the noob guide since this was discussed by jew in his own words not mine.

CHAPTER 1 - unlocking your phone
unlocking your cdma phone is done to achieve the status of flashing a custom rom to your device. what this is doing is masking the stock bootloader and tricking it to thinking that the roms being flashed to the device are your providers made roms. (this is because they lock it down to only your providers roms that can be flashed) so basically all this is doing is making it so you can flash custom roms

CHAPTER 2- custom roms
basically think of it this way. your computer and your phone both run windows. for your pc you have vista and xp mainly now and soon to be windows 7. they are all called operating systems or os's. you can do the same with your phone..... so basically lets say your phones stock rom is xp and you want vista. you would get the so called vista rom and flash that to your phone..... so basically the rom is what you are working with windows version wise.....

to unlock your phone means that now you can run custom rom, if you dont unlock your phone you can brick it. you need to down lock the ralph unlocker and run it on your phone via usb. look at my sig under need help flashing? and click on that for more info.

naw you will be fine bro..... if you look in my signature below you will see a step by step tutorial on how to flash your rom and unlock.... you willl do fine.... i would also recommend while you are at it that you check out a custom radio like the telus version..... that is stickied in the rom area for the touch pro.... and remember after you flash your first custom rom take the battery out for a minute and hard reset your device to make sure everything updates correctly.

no a hard reset restores back to factory settings.... you can do this by go to settings/system/system restore.

Just a suggestion on searching....took me a long while to figure this one out.....just type in what you are looking for and then scroll down through the listings provided...the name might not match up exactly, but something will clue you in...then start reading through the threads

if you are looking for a PIM manager try searching for calendar or contacts.....play around with the words or topic and you will find what you need...

Alright, i flashed my phone and everything, woooooo!

The only thing is, what happened to picture messaging?
I cant send or receive, and really need to since i picture message alot...help!?!?!?!?

try logging out and logging back in again....once in awhile i get the same message when i have been on and bouncing around quite a bit....might get you past that. Also...check to see, if it opens up a new window, that you are logged into that new window, i have run into that also....

i dont have the issues since im always logged on but yeah what you are doing by logging in and logging out is clearing your cookies....
