i cant use the standard keypad
 

whenever i try to go to the standard keypad it will only come up with number when i press the letters... is there anyway to fix this. i have tried soft resetting...

I never noticed that problem till you mentioned it, as I dont use the standard keypad, but now that I tried, im having the same issue, do some searching on this site or other forums, and Ill play with it on my end and try to figure it out... it may be because of the windows mobile 6.1 update or a side effect from another app or 3rd party keyboard installed... my best geuss anywayz... which probably isnt much to go on. why dont you just use a diffeent keyboard in the meantime? I like pcm keyboard myself

which pcm keyboard skin do you use? i cant really find a good one that i like.

i was using the default skin for a
while but currently im using the touch
skin, its not that bad to me. As for
the keypad Im not sure whats going on with that
regardless what I try I keep getting
the numbers and doesnt register the letters at all
you may have to forgoe using it and just
use a 3rd party keyboard, or the default
touch full qwerty keyboard that came
with the 6.1 upgrade.

This happens for me in Manila 2D on my Touch with the Touch keyboard and the Diamond keyboard.. Try the jade keyboard or Opal keyboard.. They work fine and have the same styles of input.
Or use touchpal if you like that kind of text entry

ive figured out also that having third party sipsinstalled conflict with the stock keypad (pcm in my case) but the opalkeyboard takes too much memory (have no idea why) but my ram drops from 27 to 23-24 on boot with it installed.... no idea why it consumes so much

Oh yeah forgot PCM does that with the default keyboard too... pisses me off really badly too haha

the opal consumes memory? weird.. i use the jade though

yea, no idea why. isnt the opal and jade the same one? the EZimput right?

Yes but the jade keyboard is a little bigger actually .. for me its a lot easier to type

the problem i have is just with the stock keyboards everytime i soft reset it wants to go back to the touch keyboard and i keep clicking on the arrow to change the keyboard to the regular keyboard but like i said every soft reset it gets changed back to that stupid touch keyboard.i went into options and in the drop down menu i chose the regular keyboard one and then i looked thru all 3 tabs and nothing to make it default.is there a registry key i could edit to make it default.my old phone before i had it replaced never did this the keyboard i chose would stay even after a soft reset.i dont have any other keyboards installed and i just did a hard reset last night. thanxs for any info as im am stumped.

search for an app named SIP Change, it does what you need, it keeps your keyboard after a soft reset

also if you use quick menu it is built into that under the qm settings.
