this is not working for me. keeps giving me the error "check unlock code failed. please input again" ive tried the hex ecn and the dec ecn, but to no avail. plz help

you have to make sure you put caps on the letters if they have it. it's case sensitive

thats your master security lock........ basically wehn you go to the phone settings to change some of the main stuff (for instance ##778#) you will have a screen that says view, edit, and cancle..... if you click on edit it will ask you for a passcode....... you enter your msl number there and than you can edit certain things....... this si used to activate your phone as well as to do my favorite tweak that i do to any ppc and that is change the sci (slot cycle index) what the slot cycle index does is change the time that it takes from when it starts to ring on the other persons side before it rings on yours..... its set to 2 which is 2 rings that the caller heres before your phone rings........... i change mine to 0 and i get the calls immediately. and the best part is that there is no battery drain even though you are setting it to constantly search for new towers non stop instead of once every 2 seconds.

MSL is the samething as SPC? or is it different
because when doing ##778# you can also you your spc when you get it
with GET SPC so im wondering if MSL is the SPC...

dude, that is so hot. LOL,, I tested it out and I got my calls from all my friends in half the time it took b4. know anymore editing tricks u can use with the msl or is there a thread for that already?

thats really the only trick in there that you will want to mess with.... the rest is for your data and your phone feature for the most part (well device information also)

The hex ESN is in all caps under the battery. It shows up the same way when I view vie EPST Config.

I can view everything fine. When I try to edit, I get the same error message as lilkrazzie.

I've double checked and made sure that I am inputting the esn exactly as written; all caps. I've also tried in all lower case.

To be sure I am doing this correctly, I am inputting an 8 digit hex number and it is outputting a 6 digit msl. Is this correct?

Oh sorry dash, but I dont know how to do it. Do you dial the ##778# or what? My bad if this is explained somewhere else... I sniffed around a bit but Im having serious problems with missing phone calls because of this among other things. Thanks for any help in advance.

Never mind. This prog must be specific to Sprint. Alltel apparently uses 1 standard MSL for all phones. I got it working with 000000.

na dont bother calling that number....sprint gave me my mrl...It was totally wrong...Guy said oh you must have a defective device..total bull...search baf* msl generator or grabber...It works on touch pro..i tested this and confirmed..as it gave me a totally different correct mrl then sprint did..

no luck still man the ##3282# takes me to a screen wich i can modify some info but not the slot index n i call sprint n of course there not offering any assistance with making that change they just say it cant be done

thats becasue you are using the wrong number..... you need to dial ##778# than you will see it no troubles.

I used to own a 700wx and I just checked all my old stomping grounds and there just isn't a way that anyone has figured out yet to change the SCI on the treos.

It sucks too because that was one of the biggest things that irked me about my treo. People would be hanging up before I picked up my phone. They claimed that the phone had rung 4 or 5 times and I was picking it up on the first ring on my end.

Of course I didn't even know about the SCI until a few days ago, but I do know what you're going through with your Treo.

yea usually im good about getting to it but sometimes people are like man what takes u so long to answer n i pick up right as there about to hang up im sure someone will find it sprint is no help at all they wouldnt even try to help me with it just str8 up said we cant help u with that its cool though thanks for trying

I called alltel today and they gave me the run around that it cant be done. I did however get them to tell me to dial ##000000 to get into settings, but this only gives me the option to change MDN, MSID, and Home SID/NID #1. Does anyone know how to get into the settings to change the SCI on the ALLTEL mogul? Thanks for any help in advance

same ## code should do it to get you to the features.... i know alltel phones have it since i have changed before but dont have the numbers anymore.

Well it only gives me those three options and an ok and cancel.

Hey D/\SH will this SCI tweak work on the touch pro for sprint, i got into the hidden menus but could not find it any where is it labeled as something different.

all you have to do is dial ##778# and you will come up on the screen that has the slot cycle index.

Thanks for the fast response I did find it, it is under modem settings for anyone else that is wondering. Once you get into the EPST menu, click on the value soft key on the bottem left of the screen then choose MODEM SETTINGS. Then you will see SCI on the top select it then change it to 0.

Hope this helps anyone else that can't find it.

I'm getting this same message...was this problem solved? I get to the SPC screen where it says input and output, but when I put in the HEX in the input box I get that error message. HELP please

This program is a great tool, but doesn't work for all phones. If anyone wants there MSL for there phone and don't want to install anything I am glad to help. Just PM me with your cell number and ESN (dec) and ill get it for you within 24hrs.

lol only a fool would give there esn and number out. It works for mogul and touch no issue.. newer phones use baffs msl grabber. it will get it for pro and diamond. as well as all others too...
