HTC Touch & Android

Does anyone know if you could possible run Google Android on this phone. The specs say its possible, but I dont know if anyone knows much about the Android SDK that is out there. Android looks pretty slick, and I am not to Micro$oft crazy so I would love to load it, but I dont know if its possible or how to do such a thing. Might be a stupid question but I am sure there is someone out there much more knowledgeable in this matter than me, I will take any rants or suggestions.

thanks

from what i have heard and all the touch will be able to run this with no problems!!!! i dug into the specs on the touch and than compared them to the specs needed to run android and it does match up and work with no flaws besides those in the program. heres a link i think you might be interested in also. http://code.google.com/android/download.html

Wow I been gone for awhile :) But im back now...but yah I know of a cab file that automates the install of android and calling, sms, browsing all work. The link to the cab is here: http://www.myhtcphone.com/downloads/...omatic-install and the original programmer that is working on all the updates is here: http://it029000.massey.ac.nz/vogue/ Seems pretty interesting there is a youtube video out there that shows android on the vogue in action search "android on htc vogue/touch"

yeah, i had this installed a long time ago. I believe this version still uses haret...which is basically a linux emulator for PPC. Last i checked which was a while ago they had it working, but because of the limitations that the lack of hardware buttons causes its going to be a little weird to navigate at first. But with it there are config files and such that will allow you to do customizations and such for hardware key layouts. just to confirm the phone function DOES NOT work as of yet with this. So like dash said you just have a really expensive PDA/Text machine.

Hmm I just ran this 5 minutes ago after installation...
I called my house phone and worked perfectly and then surfed google so on my end my functions work like they would normally
I like android.. kinda weird at first but cool
I had to exit because my battery is dying lol but it looks promising!
