Months after the Galaxy S21 FE (https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-s21-fe/) was benchmarked with Android 15 onboard, Samsung is making headway with the One UI 7 (https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/one-ui-7-0/) update for the second phone in Samsung's Galaxy S FE (Fan Edition) lineup.
Internal Android 15/One UI 7 test builds have been spotted on Samsung's servers (via Tarun Vats (https://x.com/tarunvats33/status/1870755922068541441)), indicating that the company is now investing more time in the development of the update.
Not that you should get too excited if you own a Galaxy S21 FE: the official One UI 7 update will not be released for any Galaxy smartphone (https://www.sammobile.com/news/samsung-one-ui-7-2025-release-galaxy-s25/) before the Galaxy S25 series' launch in late January (https://www.sammobile.com/news/galaxy-s25-launch-date-teaser-leak/). It's also unclear how long Samsung will take after unveiling the Galaxy S25 to begin the One UI 7 rollout for existing devices.
Furthermore, the Galaxy S21 FE may or may not get the update at the same time as the Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra. Android 14 came to the FE model almost two weeks after the others (https://www.sammobile.com/news/galaxy-s21-fe-android-14-one-ui-6-0-update-usa-carrier-locked/), and Android 15 may follow the same trajectory.
Android 15 will be the last major Android OS upgrade for the Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra, but the S21 FE will get Android 16 as well, as it launched running a newer version of Android and One UI.
