Did u get ur mogul replaced for free ?Its kinda like that u just go to sprint.com and fill out the form, itll ask u for ur phones info and once u send it it will tell what its gonna be replaced with

This is very true. I went to a Sprint Service Center in Brooklyn, NY today and I told them about all the problems I've been having with my Touch Pro. I've already had it replaced twice but was having major problems with the sound. After they saw I wasn't lying they offered me the TP2, Blackberry Curve, the Rant and something else. No charge and new contract. They didn't have the TP2 in stock 2day but will have it in the store 4 me 2morrow. I live in Queens, NY and was in BK 4 training and just happened to go to the store 2 see if they could help me. They did in a major way. I'm picking up my TP2. Yay Me

Got mine ordered today too. I just showed em that oil slick blob thing with the screen and they said no problem and offered the upgrade. Told me 3-5 wrk days. I just decided to check my voicemail a few minutes ago and they said they're outta stock in the warehouse. Now I gotta sit and wait.

Yea hopefully thatll put more bucks in ur pocket...My keyboard doesnt have a backlight anymore and got a crack on the side where volume buttons r at..might give this a shot at a sprint store hoping for it to be replace with a tpro 2..what do u think?

i went in today and they wanted to give me another pro also but after i told them about the WEL list, they said the tp2 was out of stock and then he asked if my address was the same and now they are send me a brand new tp2 to my house. So i hope i get it tomm from ups.

Dont hold your breath. i was offered a htc snap a few black berrys. a blacberry tour..plus a palm treo....i laughed. wouldnt budge on the pro 2. tried saying it wasnt in his system to order. Come to find out the repair center isn't corporate owned.So a very nice lady with retentions is going to call me back shortly hopefully with good news. my account had been documented by a instore tech for replacement. now just to get the pro 2. she realized closes corporate is over a hr away.

Wow so that's not what I was reading this thread about, but that is exactly what my TP did two weeks ago, a 1 inch by 1.5 inch rectangle in middle of screen that looks like a swirly rainbow oil slick. Though I doubt they'll replace my phone, It's my second (the first keyboard died, this one when it died they just replaced the keyboard inside and haven't had problems since), but she's pretty beat up from a ride off a roof I was working on.

Well, took my TP in yesterday and they replaced it with another TP, should be here tomorrow. Prolly gonna keep it a day or two then take it back and swap again....then I'll just repeat the process if need be. You Kaos, PM what you did with the Hex Editor so I can have that option banked.

same way as said over and over in this thread.... if one tech or one store doesnt work go to another if there is another repair center/ corporate store around you... just like when over the phone it can vary by person you talk to and the day

Any way we can get a quick explanation/tutorial on this? I'm on my 3rd or 4th and I've had this one less than a month and the keyboard stops working intermittently, it probably won't replicate if they check it out, it just happens a few times a week randomly and its annoying to have to soft reset just to text someone, not to mention the extra strain on the battery

I'm taking mine in to the store an hour drive away on Friday. Honestly a TP2 would be nice, but more to the point, I just want a phone that WORKS. Not one I have to trick into doing what I want by cloak and daggers. Doing more research told me that the oil slick thing, and the backlight staying on after phone shut off isn't normal. He'll I've been living with that for over a month, not thinking anything of it. A repaired TP is fine. However I won't downgrade, I paid for my phone full retail, and don't like that I feel jipped. What matters to me is having a working phone that does what I need to do, when I need to. Without it I'm hurting at work, and in my personal life. I'm leery though with all the people making claims now, or hex editing their phone to make it bad. I mean seriously, if it works then all you want is the next toy. If all you want is the new toy, buy one. Even at full retail. But hacking a perfectly functional phone to make it not work, so you can get a new phone you have no guarantee works better? That just seems off.

I works bro i used to do it all the time with my tp ,i thinnk she left it in to short hey replaced everything on the phone, we just found out that the phone done work lol so shes taking it back tomm . wrong.... being mine wasnt ordered from a corporate store. plus the closest around is a few hrs away. retentions did it through someone very high up in escalations. any way it will be 4 to 5...so far ordered monday. maybe here tomorrow....p.s i didnt mess with reg...that could be fixed by hard reset. i hex edited the rom to mess it up. they can hard reset all they want still issues are there...

yeah i also talked to one of the reps here and they also said the word got around that alot of ppl have been taking advantage of this upgrade and they took it off the list here. but they were gonna try to get me one since ive been through so many, on my 10th right now, lol

i read about this type of thing on every site that i visit..i said it before that we have sprint tech that frequent our board so they can learn how to mod a phone or whatever...and they learn from us to trouble shoot an issue...

And all we do is alter phones, if you wanna get technical, unlocking your phone and flashing a custom rom is altering your phone and is against sprint rules. So don't be a hypocrite. Gave me 2 yr renew credit. Credited my account almost 600 bucks. Ordered the phone and sent it out.Now i have a valid tracking number. So one of two things will happen. I may have a untracable pro2 show up again had it in past with pro 1. So may have 2 pros for free. Or may get 1..Either way i keep my first pro and get a free pro2.....ya son.

i will caveat (for all you guys that don't know what that word means, look it up) that with this. i would agree that if you were on your 4th or 5th TP and that's all Sprint (or whoever) wants to give you, then i think you are well in your rights to do whatever it takes to get away from that phone and into a new one.

Keyboard failure on my first TP, went in Friday, and they didn't even come close to offering a TP2. Had choice of another TP, Snap, or Treo Pro, and they wouldn't budge on that. Had it been my 2nd or 3rd TP, I probably would have pushed the issue, but as it was my first, I'm not too worried. Now if this one goes bad quickly, or is bad from the start, that's another story.

Shoulda just waited and saved some energy. As far as ROMs, I don't mind waiting a month or so and really getting the hang of the new phone before tricking it out. Called the store today, and they said I can exchange for TP2. I went in, said come back in an hour... They replaced my keyboard and "updated the software"...... Ugh, whatever...

I'm still missing calls, the phone doesn't always ring.... I'm sure something else will go wrong soon...

Well I know for one I have 12 lines with Sprint and I have 7 touch pro's and the rest are Black Berries but anyway to make long story short I had not even read this post and I was having trouble with one of the touch pro's not charging or syncing less than 6 weeks old and one that just randomly rebooted its self for no reason. well finally went to sprint today since the tp2 went back on the list and took the phone to see what would happen. made a ticket and called me in 10 mins to tell me that all they can do is order me another pro! im like on #10, lol. so i went to the store when i got out of work and talked to the manager and he tried to give me the run around. told him im sick and tired of comming here every month cause of the same issue. he wanted to give me a blackberry, palm pro or the htc snap, whatever! just told him i paid cash for this phone not for a blackberry, then tired to tell me the phone was on back ordered and i was like put me on the list then. after 20 min they came out to tell me they are gonna send me a brand new TP2 to my house! im so happy now! should have it here in a couple of days!!! bout damm time, lol

Called the store today, and they said I can exchange for TP2. I went in, said come back in an hour... They replaced my keyboard and "updated the software"...... Ugh, whatever...

to be quit honest i dont think many here can hex edit correctly...lol why you havent seen it.... there are articles on ppcgeeks about doing it for diamond . same rules apply just different pp sizing. read those articles and then search for different page pools. you will figure it out.

now im bored i will how ever think im a edit the new pro2 rom. make stock faster at least...

Look i been having the same problem everyone else has had with the phone and i mean all the freezing while charging and the keyboard going out and Font forget the miss call when yo phone lights up like it is fixin to ring and it never ring and no miss call, this is my 2nd tp i had and i so called sprint and they passed me of to 10 different people in one call. I know i have to put in some work to the the tp2 and all i want to know is that when i go into the store and tell them all the problem that i am having with the phone is they going to send me the tp2. you have to have 3 or mor ereplacements on the pro already and has to be approved by a tech in store for best results and thats where most of the success in the matter comes from

Yeah I just got off the phone with some of the sprint techs...they offered me probably the same 3 phones they offered you. I was able to get them to say that the Touch Pro 2 was an option for replacement, but they didn't have it in stock, it was back ordered. I told them I was going to hold off until they had them in stock. So I guess I'll try later.

they just dont have them available via eticket/ advanced exchange, and no stores in nyc have the phone at all in the store never received them ot even sell to customers ridiculous. , i thought tech support was lying to me but i even walked into a store and saw it on the screen. It shows yes under exchange list to swap for touch pro but after you click it theres no option to order or anything. The tech agents at the store are saying they are available then literarly 5 minutes later are gone. Been waiting 2 weeks now hopefully things work out soon.

Yeah so I tell my friend about TP2 he goes an burns out his Pro pick a store out at randoms , goes into the store says my pro does not work at all.... They look at said yep we will give another Pro. Well after talking with the sprint tech once again, (she was actually really quite nice for a first) she said that the touch pro 2 is on back order for 14 weeks, which could be true. Well in 14 weeks the manufacturers' warranty will be off of my phone. So I think I am going to bite the bullet and settle for a different phone, or get another pro. I was actually thinking of picking up the Moment when in comes on the market.

I found out it all depends on the sprint store. I tried getting my TP replaced with a TP2 from my local sprint store and they told me that they would put me on a waiting list then they called a week later and said it was on indefinite back order and I would have to pick from the 4 phones that everyone else has been offered on here. So I told them forget that because none of the phones compared to the pro. So I looked up all the sprint stores in my area and found out that the one i was dealing with was a third party store so I called the nearest actual sprint store and they ordered me the TP2 with no problem and I picked it up the next day!

Central florida second replacment went into authorized service center the guy says ok looks like there getting you the option to pick another phone, and he gave me the offers but no touch pro 2 i could see the list it was on there but it had a no next to it. So to please him i went through the phones with him and we figured they were not comparable. He then showed me the tp2 and said this is the new one they are not having any issues with it. So I asked can I just get replaced with that since it is the comparable model. He said no they did in the begining but have since not allowed it any more, Anyway he ordered me a tp. Now if this on does not work would I be better off going to the corporate repair center?? Thanks

yes if the new one ois bad than go to a corporate repair center and give it a shot. keep trying this is something that you will have to do that on... try different stores if possible as well as different times

A Sprint Repair store and Asurion are different.... If you where to call Asurion an them i need a replace. But had gone to a store before that an they order you one , they wouldn't know. I almost did it myself went to a store they order me a new tp an then i called asurion next seeing if they would do it for tp2. They said it would be TP an you have to pay 100. I could have had 2 of them haha

I had to take my tp in to the repair center here because the screen stopes working bad connection or something well when he got it fixed it wouldn't sync or charge so offered a replacement well the tp2 was on the list but out of stock and I needed a phone so they swapped it out for another tp this was my first replacement I hope my keyboard starts failing so I can go back and get them to order one instead so it's still an option

This is very true. I went to a Sprint Service Center in Brooklyn, NY today and I told them about all the problems I've been having with my Touch Pro. I've already had it replaced twice but was having major problems with the sound. After they saw I wasn't lying they offered me the TP2, Blackberry Curve, the Rant and something else. No charge and new contract. They didn't have the TP2 in stock 2day but will have it in the store 4 me 2morrow. I live in Queens, NY and was in BK 4 training and just happened to go to the store 2 see if they could help me. They did in a major way. I'm picking up my TP2. Yay Me

ok so im just gonna deny the options and get the refurb tp 1. I spent another hour with sprint on the phone and they told that tp2 is not gonna be an option for awhile for tp exchange. should i now hit up ausrion and just pay the 100 bucks and start the process to get into the tp2?

i dont know those do count as claims and all youget is 3 a year with asurion so you dont wanna waste them... jsut get them replaced with a tp in store to get your numbers up there so it doesnt count against you

right but what im saying is you will use three through online theres all your claims... than you will have around 340 days to wait before you can make a claim through asurion on your new phone since you are sol and without any claims left for the rest of the year until the date you made the first claim has came and passed.

asurion has always only allowed you 3 claims a year before they drop you... its in the contract that you agreed upon when you signed up for their service... read through that manual and you will find.... i know its in the sprint and verizons ones for sure... (manual=welcome packet)

Yah they dropped me and a friend of mine a quite a few years back after we had 5 claims for sanyo 8200's or whatever "first sprint sanyo push-to-talk" phones . 3 of which were with assurion cause sprint didn't wanna deal with us when the phone was stolen.

I'm done with the Touch Pro and Sprint not owning up to selling me this lemon of a phone I took it up with the Better Business Bureau waiting on my response... this phone is to expensive to have had all the bugs and quirks and only be a year old it almost is the cost of flat screen Tv. and if it was a TV some store would have had a scene at the customer service counter. me personally i dont like android phones. my wife as i said has the moment and her sis has the htc hero. i rather have wm u can do some much more with it plus i dont want to learn another os as in the android os.

you cant do more with it... there is an app to fill in the blanks with android... look through the app store and such you will findmany useful apps and not all fun and games ones like the iphone app store with few useful ones added to it.

Sprint stores and tech agents over the phone and higher up have confirmed that the touch pro 2 is backordered until after christmas. The pre is being offered but they are doing this to move the sero customer to newer plans as well as get people off the tp. They are killing two birds with one stone. Its odd how 99% of the stores in NYC still have not gotten the TP2 to sell to customers.

nowhere in the state of michigan is expected to have them in store until after christmas.... verizon has all there phones in stock in my area right now..... thats the difference right there with verizon, they have them in stock and they dont "repair" the phones they give you a brand new unrefurbished device no questions asked if they see what you are talking about easily.... loving it with veriozn and dont have to worry about the nonsense anymore... already did the above with my droid and have to admit it was the best customer service i have received from a phone provider ever... hell i didnt even feel bad buying a case and a 3 pack of screen protectors for the droid eris especially since my company idscount gives me 25% off all accessories and 22% off my bill :smile:

i played back and forth through advance exchange advance tech support and the repair center, last resort asurion and the truth. I called em up said I had 4 replacment phones and would be happy to pay 100.00 if they would give me another phone becaus of all the problems with the tp. I told the lady right now the only comparable model is the tp2 can you help me. She told me to hold on came back on and said due to the replacment and issues you have had I checked out inventory and we will be sending you a NIB TP2. Well worth the 100.00 bucks!! Its the best on I have had yet. Put some R3 on there and you will fall in love again. Best of luck to ya all. My suggestion suck it up and pay 100.00 its worth it with all the time arguing and crap trying to get it for free. I mean it is a 600.00 phone!

yea i would switch but the plan im currently on with sprint is ridiculous like if i back out now it would be stupidity on my end. The service is great never had a problem with service or anything just the phones. I got my touch pro swapped for a tp2 the day the tp2 came out due to a previous promise already notated. I still dont understand why Sprint stores still dont have this phone and its been over 2 months since the phone released. Do you think it might never hit the stores and they will just bring the Leo out in early 2010?
