Greetings:

My name is Gordon. I answer to Gordon, 521, "hey you", and a few other names that I probably shouldn't post on here....(usually reserved for friends and the wife) *smirk*

I reside in Baytown, Texas, just east of Houston off Interstate 10, on the southeast Texas gulf coast, USA.

I joined here after letting Gadget convince me to purchase a Touch Pro phone (she was fussing at me about my Nextel - LOL!), and deciding to see what she found to be so fascinating about them and this site.

Well, let me just say, after all the problems that I ran into with my phone and all the excellent help we gained from members here in finding out what was actually going on, I can now clearly see why she praises the members here!

Thanks to all of you who assisted when we needed you! Truly a great bunch of people!

I'm not real familiar with all the phone modding and stuff, so will most likely be lurking in the shadows reading, but I do appreciate the opportunity to be a member and the invitation to join in.

Personally, i'm more into movies and mobile media myself. I currently own a couple of Creative Zen Vision-M's, a Zen Vision-W, one of the older Creative Touch players, and a few other devices. I've been trying to assist Gadget on formatting compatability for the Touch Pro, and am hoping to discover the proper format to get converted dvd video to stream without having to buffer, and without the video skipping as it plays. I would welcome any opinions and any information/specifications towards supported formats for the TP if anyone has any, since I cannot seem to locate the info on the web. I've been successful with compressing dvd video to less than 500Mb, and having it stream on the Zens, so I firmly believe it can be done on the TP also with similar results once I learn the supported format and conversion settings.

Ok, enough rambling for now.......

Thank you again, one and all!

Gordon............ 521

Welcome to www.wckediden.com aka "Wckediden"

You've come into the best site for modifications, themes, applications, software, movies, and knowledge for your PPC or electronics in general; take your time, look around and enjoy! If you READ the NOOB GUIDES and the RULES, you should be able to figure things out. Click on SHOW SIG button (towards the bottom left of every post) for more help. There is a SEARCH link at the top of EVERY page.
We have a very helpful staff here; but there are NO PMs to Admins / Mods / Staff asking "how do .........." because there are threads for that.

Don't forget to hit THANKS (bottom right of every post) if someone helps you. Saying "Thanks" in your reply is great, but that button is quicker.

Welcome,
CYBER WEESJE

UPDATE ----

It wasn't my idea for him to get a TP, he's been with Nextel for YEARS.

Hubby and I have had PPCs for a year or so, and 521 is into geocaching, so I told him about setting up my old Mogul for my son to use for when they go on hunts together. He looked into it and got one for him and his wife. Wife's works and his doesn't. I spent hours with Sprint, and no go. Last I heard they were sending him a replacement even though the thing was only on his account for like less than 24 hours. Keep your fingers crossed!

Ha! Shame on you for telling off like that! *smirk*

If I get busted on the phone for that, you're gonna have to give yours up! LOL!

*runs and ducks for cover*

Oh, and just to remind you "Why don't you get rid of Nextel? Sprint has all kinds of neat smartphones out that do all kinds of things more than your Nextel. All you use the Nextel for is the direct connect and you don't use it much......" *BLINK* (not an exact quote, but pretty close) And the wife confirmed it too! *pfttt* LOL!

I should give ya a thumbs down for that! *smirk*

Thanks again all for the welcome!

Got the replacement TP in the mail today - I guess the bill will be the final indicator.

So far, so good! Also managed to get X-Men Wolverine to play right on it at 330 megs, but took about 3 hours to convert. (I'll try to keep updates on the progress)

Again, thanks for the greetings!

Have a great day!

you owe me a pot of chili for that crack - HA! check your billing online and see if they are gonna charge you for it, they didn't ask for authorization or anything when the tech offered to send it out. I think he just felt sorry for me having to go through 6 hours of Sprint crap in order to get it taken care of. glad to hear that you got it, and glad that I could help. Have fun with it!

mzlady, thanks for the welcome!

and Gadget... i'm not seeing anything on billing yet, but they DID try to slam me on another two year contract without my authorization (through Sept 2011). I think I caught that in time, since after calling customer service they said they took it off and put me back on "Out Of Contract" status. It's good to be out of contract - they tend to listen a little better when you have to call them for fear of losing your money. I'll stop by later today when I finally get out.

Thanks again all, for the welcomes and great advice!

Welcome to Wckediden, great to have you. Their is a wealth of information here whether it's already been posted or can be pulled out of others. Everyone loves to be involved and assist with various situations, but remember to search 1st, then post. Make sure you can't find it in the vast knowledge already being presented throughout the site. Enjoy.

Forty, thanks for the greeting. I was trying to click the thanks icon when my 23 pound cat jumped on my desk hitting my arm.... thus purely unintentionally resulting in a down instead of an up - Sorry 'bout that. It won't let me change it now.

Since it won't let me post a pic, here's the link (less the http prefix) for his pic. When he wants to lay someplace, he pretty well just does. LOL!

(It's just a pic of our huge white cat on my desk - don't panic! LOL!)
