This little app shows animated NexRad radar images. This update fixes a number of nagging issues and adds some polish - it has gone from functional to fantastic!
Changelog:
Stop animating after 1 minute of inactivity, tap to resume
Use a still image for the minimized pages
Improve webkit cache management
Make scroll positions persistent
Update to icon provided by phillipah (may need to reboot/delete & reinstall to see it)
TODO:
Find a way to support shrink/zoom pinch gestures.
Waiting for Palm to support animated .gifs with the ImageView widget
Alternatively load the individual images and cycle them myself
Use location services to pick/center the radar intelligently
Find a sleep event to hook instead of the timeout kludges being used now
Add WunderMap Interactive Radar & Weather Stations : Weather Underground (http://www.wunderground.com/wundermap) support
Possibly add lightning strike data - don't know of any free data source
Add support for individual radar sites instead of the mashups
There have been many other great suggestions that I haven't listed here.
