Requirements: WM6.1-6.5

Whats inside Opera Mobile 9.7
Opera Turbo
Opera Turbo uses advanced compression technology to speed up data transfer and to reduce the amount of data that needs to be downloaded. This speeds up the browsing significantly and makes browsing much snappier.
Opera Widgets
Opera Widgets are small, handy standards-based Web applications that run locally on you phone, giving you one-click access to your favourite web services.
Pan and zoom
Using the same technology found in Opera Mini, Opera Mobile 9.7 defaults to full Web page viewing and allows users to pan and zoom into their desired content in just a few clicks.
Save pages and/or images
With a click, simply save your selected content and send via email or MMS to your friends.
Improved user interface
Opera has completely renovated its mobile UI. Cleaner and more intuitive, the new UI is designed for quick and easy navigation.
Improved standards support
Opera remains steadfast in its commitment to make the Web accessible for all. Opera Mobile 9.7 is the most standards-compliant mobile browser available. It is based on Opera's latest core rendering engine, Presto 2.2.
Faster
Opera has always been among the fastest browsers  if not the fastest  available. Opera Mobile 9.7 beta continues this fine tradition with noticeable speed improvements over Opera Mobile 9.5 and IE Mobile.
Opera Dragonfly
Opera Dragonfly is Operas open source cross-platform developer tool. This unique hybrid application officially goes cross-platform in Opera Mobile 9.7. To use the remote development and debugging tools, first start Dragonfly in Opera 9.64 on desktop (download or read more), then check the “remote debug†box in Dragonflys settings dialog and press apply. On the phone, go to the address “opera:debugâ€Â, type the IP address of the computer youre connecting to, and hit “connectâ€Â. From that point on, Dragonfly works exactly as it does on Opera 9.64.

shows some nice potential but still not what i expect the experience to be. quite buggy & laggy for starters.. the screen rotation animation is pretty slick looking but appears to put a nice load on the cpu. as i'm typing this, the browser locked up while trying to load my website.
oh damn i assumed it locked up the browser but it locked up the whole phone =\ soft resetting now

If you are running on a Pro then you should not need to update your Flash on your phone. Just uninstall 9.7 and re install 9.5 should work just fine.

Opera_Browser_9_70_35432_0 added to thread as release. This is non-beta. Currently my home pc has been stolen from me and I am posting this update with this version of opera. Very quick and responsive. A lot less buggy than its beta predecessor. I even went to the youtube site and watched streaming video. very nice! When a pc becomes available to me I will update first post with new release info and changelog.......enjoy!!!

After updating this. I DL'd it immediately and put it to work. Still early, but so far it is extremely responsive and runs very smooth. I'm going to put it through some paces and will update with more feedback once I get the chance. This is a definite DL and test program... everyone needs a good browser ;) Have fun and good luck.

I'm surprised this this thread is not getting as much attention as it should. It seems from reading the previous comments many got discouraged from 9.7. This 9.7 is updated and the best Opera Mobile version out there that I have come across. It has downloads now, the screen rotates like a previous comment made here stated, it's fast and responsive, and I have not run into any issues as of yet. Still early, but to not take a second and install, see if it works for you, then keep or re-install 9.5 (for some reason) is in your hands. Just because it works doesn't mean it can't get better. If you had a car that had 200 HP and I said let me give you the same car with some extra upgrades and throw another 100 HP to help you out. I know the response is not going to be :I'm ok with what I have...it works" lol
The reason for this long novel is Opera Mobile is probably an app that everyone has in their phone. It's an app we use often and yet this thread is heading back of the bus and not many taking advantage of a solid app.
Just don't miss what's in front of you... that's a life comment to live by.
That's all he wrote, I'm out :)

I'm with Dash. Gotta give us more and what is happening, so this info can be passed on and we would have an idea what is being affected. I'm really curious as to what bugs you are experiencing, because this is version has less issues then any other Opera I have played with... which would be pretty much all of them :) I would not go back to another at this point. IMHO

haha, That's a big statement for anyone reading this. I'm sure you might still use both, but I'm with you Goku. I use Opera 9.7 as my primary browser, because it has more everyday type capabilities and needs. SkyFire is a great multimedia browser and if I am having issues with a site, then I will use SkyFire or one of my other browsers to get around those issues. I'm actually looking forward to offering Opera Mobile 9.7 on Android (actually any Opera Mobile :) .
