we have an app here but for american users its impossible to get perfect because of no front facing camera.... so basically you would have to use a mirror behind yur shoulder to see the screen and the person at the same time.

yeah it really sucks they didn't keep the cam in front for the video calling to work! wtf...that wd be sweet. Cdma shouldve kept that...

Yea its always like that with our phones, apparently out carriers dont really support it here. Thats why we need a stand alone app for it. Or so Im told.

could be some FCC requirements that dont meet in the united states also with having two cameras on their devices being sold there.

The Fuze over here in Australia has both cameras and the carriers support video calling.

yup its us americans with the cdma technology that dont have it.... hell even the gsm phones sold here dont have the 2 cameras....

Prolly something with data consumption I mean think about it, why arent you as tempted to do video calling right now? Because the front camera isnt there... so carriers want to reduce the amount of data consumption on their network so they want to discourage making video calls when you could be using wayyyy less bandwidth just having a voice conversation. It makes sense to me, I don't know if anyone else buys into this theory :P

i totaly understand VX.. but now that we have the ap available we can just turn it on and one person can point the cam to a MOVIE while someone on the other line watches ??
is that correct? if so we might not be able to FULLY have video call but we can still do some wicked s#it with this ap !

Well Just thinkin outside of the box here... but... anyone ever thoght about trying it, in conjunction w/ the Tv out... ideally... use the TV out signal to veiw the other person, and the phone and camera to record urself?

I really hope w/ tp2 and future gsm phone brought here, theyll keep that feature cuz itd be awesome... the future is now.... everyone would be doing video calls if we had access to the tech... and we should/ could already have it...

Yeah i feel you... i dont use it too often either, but it has possibilites to be put to good use... my boy uses it, to get the gps directions to display on he lcd screen in his Nav, when doing road trips... he's real clever w/ that ish... but if he can do it for that.... why not use it for video confrencing!

nah... he uses tv out to display gps on the lcd screen in his dash board....not video confrencing...lol...but that would be cool

if someone would want to try this out and odwnload the video conferencing app that we have with me i would be willing to give it a try on my tv as see what happens :) let me know if someone wants to do this :)
