Hi. I am having an issue from time to time with my touch pro from sprint and was wondering if anyone else has experienced the problem that I am having. Every once in a while (about twice a week) I will take my phone off the charger and the light that shows it is charging continues to stay on permanently and the phone will not turn on or do anything. The only thing I can do is take out the battery and put it back on and power it on again. Not a great thing when this is my work phone and need access to calls all the time.
Any thoughts or solutions?? Anyone else having this issue??
Thanks!!

Couple of other questions. Are you running a stock rom or custom (if custom, which), and are you running any screen locks apps?
I had a similar problem with one of the earlier S2U2 versions (I think it had a memory leak) if I went a while without a restart. Though I could use the soft reset button, didn't have to pop the battery.

really... you have to physical pull the battery... a soft reset wouldnt work? Id say try hard reseting or flashing a different rom... and try not to install to many apps... take your time and monitor your devices response to the apps you install, because its sounding like a conflict is just freezing it up... maybe between active sync and something else like sensor scroll or some messageing app? Its more than likly its an apps that access the slight sensor, but it could be any app just freezing ur device when tether... also if it happens again, try a simple soft reset, a less time, and basically will do the same as pulling the battery...

I have not added any applications to the phone. Just started using it a few weeks ago and use it mostly just as a phone and to access my work emails. Not sure what a soft reset is, but I can not do ANYTHING with the phone when it happens except take out the battery. Nothing turns on or off, no buttons work period.
I think I just got screwed with a shitty phone!
Thanks all for the thoughts. Any more ideas would be appreciated!

soft reset= sticking the stylus in the hole on the bottom at the right of the usb port...
ideas... short of Hard resettin ... id say do what tweety said and take it back to have it looked out and maybe swaped out... since your still on stock rom and done nothing w/ it... chances are you got defective hardware... IMO

this is a very common problem on the touch pros.... everyone will have this happen occassionally from time to time if the radio is left on for too long.... the only thing i have found that fixes it for sure is that you soft reset once a day when you wake up or something and it hasnt happened since to me........ i think its just that the phone hasnt been reset enough and all those running programs in the background or parts of apps that didnt fully close took their toll nad caused the crash due to lack of memory.

I have the problem while charging also and the soft reset will not work. The ONLY thing that can be done is pull the battery. I am running the rom that came with it. I have added a few aps. My phone also freezes about every other day. But those times I can soft reset. Would an upgraded rom help? I am running rom version 1.05.671.4

yes a rom update would help out alot and so would a radio update. take a look at my signature below ans there is a link to a tutorial that will teach you step by step how to do so.... and if you dont feel comfortable doing so i offer a mod service for a fair price and you can pm me for more info on that.

ATR Rom.................
i would recommend the atr like superman said...... but choosing a rom is different for everyone and all roms are made different so you have to flash until you find one that works best for you.
