OK I tried unlocking my phone with the unlock program and now all I get is a a red, green, blue and white screen. Hard reset won't even fix it. I'm pissed and need help to get my phone back. My life was in this thing... HELP!!!!! What can I do?????

What unlocker did you use? If you used the wrong one you may have bricked your phone.

I found the hard reset and tried that. Guess what? Didn't work. I'm screwed aren't I?

What happened when you ran the unlocker? Did the progress bar show up and complete? Where did you get the unlocker? What does the text say on the screen when you have your phone on?

Ok, which ROM are you gonna try to flash? Unplug the usb and plug it back in and see if the "serial" changes to USB.

Ok, as long as it says usb at the bottom, you are connected to activsync. So continue with the flashing process. Do you have a blank RUU and the ROMs nbh file yet?

It wont say its connected on your comp, but as long as it says USB on the bottom, you ARE connected. You need to download a ROM that is US Cellular compatible and the RUU from the link I posted above.

OK, go here and download this

Just download it, then place it in the RUU that you just downloaded and choose to overwrite when prompted. After that run the RomUpdateUtility. Follow the onscreen prompts and let it do its thing. After its done, the phone will reset, you have to follow some more onscreen prompts, when your phone says "will perform customization in 3 sec....2 sec..."(it will be counting down), do a soft reset, just dont let it countdown and start. Then you need to install a US Cellular cab

Well, I gotta go to bed, I got work tomorow. If this doesnt work, I'm pretty sure that you can flash Kaos Take 2 and it will work. You just have to put your phone into bootloader mode manually. We have a very helpfull staff and I'm sure if/when anyone of them see this they will chime in and help you and/or correct any mistakes I may have made or include steps I might have forgotten.

If your still 6.0, I would recommend flashing to your stock 6.1 rom, then try flashing a custom rom. Just follow the instructions for flashing stock from custom in the Flashing guide.

Youll prolly have to put the phone into bootloader (tri-colored screen) manually, then flash it. remember, as long as it says usb and not serial, you are connected.

Lol, dude I better be gettin like 50 thanks from you in this thread:) Press and hold the camera and power button the soft reset. That should take you to the bootloader screen.

Once ur in bootloader run the update utility tool thing in the file from ur pc and u should be good to go. As long as it says USB in the bootloader flashing will go easily. Lol but first upgrade ur radio then do the above

GPS should work for you now that you did the update, you may also want to do this, go to......start/settings/phone/services/location setting....and turn on.

The rom thing is your personal preference. You cant go wrong with a Kaos ROM though. And yes, your GPS should work.

with the stock rom you loaded gps should work, try the latest google maps app and try out the gps. as for the custom rom for your phone i would go with a KAOS rom, for you kaos take 3 hybrid for alltel is what id try out, is what i used when i had that phone.

Well, you dont have to.....but you should want to. His roms are prolly the best out for your phone. So it is recommended:)

Just go to the ROM release(supported) section and review the features in each ROM. Its really a personal choice:)

you would have to have the phone unlocked using the hardslp that you would for custom roms..... than you would want to use the uscellular dcd carrier cab. you could look for the uscellular version on htc.com if one was ever released it will be there.... but i would rather see you go with a custom orm for them sicne they want stability, speed, and great gps signal........... you canfind the tutorial for all of the above mentioned below in my signature wehre it says click here to learn how to flash roms.

the roms here dont have the carrier junk installed so it can be ran with any provider.... you will jsut need to run the dcd carrier cab for your provider...... jut follow the same steps and if you want to flash the stock one than follow the steps for flashing the stock one....

no you dont and as stated above they will work fine on your phone.... by the way nice choice on the kaso rom :> they were always my favorites on the 6800.

what are you talking about we have it here.... search carrier cabs and you will findand all the programs work with yours besides ones from other carriers..... you still have thousands upon thousands too choose from.

the stock rom will update if you are using your providers. the only reason it would say that it wasnt the correct provider is if you were flashing a custom rom or another providers rom to your phone without relocking first... if you have it unlocked you will be fine and the flash will work without troubles.

Why do you want to go back to stock anyway? The only real reason to go to stock is if your going to return the phone. We have a bunch of ROMs here you can try to see what you like. Try our "ROM SUPPORTED" section. We got a nice ass selection.

you have to relock your device... the error your getting shouldnt happen especiually with stock...... htc will have the rom upgrade on their site or uscellular would too..... you could also bring it in and ask if they can flash it to the newest custom rom and they shoudl do it for free in store.

Hmmm, so I'm browsing HTC website, and it doesn't seem like HTC released a 6.1 upgrade to the 6.1. There isn't a software download option like there is for other phones. Check out the link below, unless I'm missing something.

my reason for looking is to convert an old xv6800 to us cellular...and I was wondering if anyone has a radio for US cellular and or the following?

PRL (it doesn't have to be hacked as long as it was from a us cellular rom)
Radio (need that too)
DMU keys

I'm not sure on the DMU keys. Perhaps there are a public set of keys like verizon has but I haven't found it yet
