freeze when charging

Hi n00b here, I did a search, only found one thread relating to my problem, but it wasn't exactly the same.. so here it is:

My touch pro completely froze from an over night charge (home charger), I had to do a soft reset, and find out the battery wasn't charged at all!
This happened 5 times already, and I had the phone for 10 days.
Is it a software problem? or should I exchange it? I called the local sprint stores around me, none of them have the TP in stock...

any tips will be greatly appreciated! thanks in advance.

maybe take it back and exchange it for a different one? Ocams Razor sez....when one is mired in deep doo doo usually the most obvious and simple solution is best.

try a hard reset and than see if it still does it..... if it doesnt be sure to get an exchange since its a hardware issue than.

thanks! I performed a hard reset, and hopefully this will solve the problem. The store I bought the phone never has it in stock for exchange!
