ROM with M2D active has about 20 Megs of free RAM (everything disabled except active sync and M2d)
ROM Without M2D active has about 25.75 Megs of RAM. (everything disabled except active) It runs VERY nicely with out M2D.

Just remember M2D is a memory hog but looks sooooo good!

One question if anyone can answer. Would I be able to flash to this rom on top of kaos hybrid take 5 rom or do I need a differnt bootloader? I have hardspl olipro 2.40 on it from flashing to kaos.

I never locked my phone back up so I should be ok right?

<S>Wait one more quick question what file would I need to rename to put on my sd card and flash with that? since its quicker I heard.</S>

yes you can flash straight to this without unlocking again..... and for the flashing from sd card you will need a card 2 gigs or less and you need to format it to FAT32 (you will lose files so backup on pc) and than once you do that you take the .nbh file and instead of taking it and placing it in the RUU just rename to TITAIMG.nbh and drop on the card than manually place the phone into bootloader mode by pressing and holding the camera and power buttons while soft resetting and follow the prompts on the screen.

yeah just make sure the sd card is not sdhc, high capacity.

mine does this every time i hard reset...you have to go into active sync on your computer and choose tools and then options and make sure the contacts are check marked...sometimes i have to disconnect and reconnect my device a couple of times before it actually works...

yes as long as you downlaod the radio or flash to the newest stock version first.

I know tf2d is a memory hog but its much smoother on this rom rather than just downloaded it straight to another rom

true. runs smoother/had it install before. I noticed when I try to choose all the settings, it don't launch. i'll try a soft reset. again good rom just testing will decide to keep it or not.

I install korean localization tool to read and write in korean, but on all the korean appears "?", any idea how to fix them? I used nuefont to change a system font to some korean font but it didn't help. it seems like, M2D set Calib as system font and nuefont didn't effect on them. Need some help guys...thanks,,,,,oh,,,it show up correctly from Icontact,messageand Opera but contact, caller id, ie, home screen is now showing correctly.

after you flash make sure you run the iota cab in the extended rom and than soft reset on prompt and see if that fixes your net issues.

doesn't alltel have a new rom out? why don't you flash to that stock one instead of sprint? and yes, you got the steps right. i think to change the skin, you have to drop the files into your windows folder using resco or total commander. don't hold me on that though

just a question, i've noticed that since i've installed this ROM, my windows live wont sync to my phone anymore. I got my gmail and yahoo in but with windows live it takes me to internet explorer and has me check through there.. any help would be greatly appreciated

installed and this works beautifully...add mbavarians manilla landscape cab and this rom is a dream for those who want to use touchflo2d on their mogul...i don't know if anyone else has had problems finding any themes that will work with the m2dc on this rom but apart from that this works great and leaves a lot of memory free

If you want to save memory and have tf2d running switch but if its not a problem just stick with take 5

alright guys, i flashed to the newest version of this rom and let me tell you...if you like the manilla2d then this is the rom you've gotta flash to. touchflo works great and the themes included are pretty sick...also you get to put the apps on there that you want without having to put anything you don't want on...i use skyfire so i hated how the other rom came with opera...plus there is so much free ram on this its crazy...i've got resco explorer, wisbar advance 3, audio manager, the lnadscape fix, skyfire windows live, google maps and htc album on here and still have around 15 mb of free ram available...if you like the 2d then give this bad boy a whirl

Iota cab. I noticed that after I flashed to this rom, my phone didn't do the normal iota provisioning. Could this be why I can't access the internet? I get the following error message when trying to go to any website "Cannot connect with current connection settings. To change your connection settings, tap Settings"

I can send receive text messeges. I haven't tried to send any out yet.

This is way better than the touchflo2d. Kaos take 3 is great but touchflo2d bogs it down and there are still a lot of bugs. This thing is awesome. The only thing that doesn't work is the location tab. Can't wait for the next version. Awesome thread. TY!

if you installed the newest version of this rom then you have to download google maps and then your location tab will work once it is installed

What other bugs did you have? Location doesn't work for me neither, nor does the operator tab and Myfaves tab. I also don't have live messenger, telenav, mobile tv but I realized that wasn't on the list so that answers that problem. But those can be added once I find the cabs. (although I haven't found live messenger yet). I know there are other platforms I can install to compensate for msn messenger, but I just like live messenger for some reason. Maybe because I can see the photo of the person I'm chatting with *shrugs*. Also, on the photo tab, I can only pull up pictures that are stored on my device instead of on the memory card. I haven't figured out a way to point it to the storage card. There's something else but I can't think of it. Oh, Landscape doesn't fit across the screen, but there's a fix somewhere for that. I saw it in another thread. I just haven't had the time to look for it yet. All and all, it runs very smooth and the layout is gorgeous. I also like that I still have the option of setting the screen to normal boring way through settings and removing the check for touchflo. Oh, one last thing. Opera is cool, but I still think SkyFire is the better of the browswers. When I launch Opera and I try to type with my keyboard, it forces me to use the onscreen keyboard. Specifically, if I go into landscape and attempt to type in a username and password, the cursor doesn't remain in the field everytime a letter is pressed. So I have to type in the field again, which brings up the sip each and every time. When I used the garbage I.E. that didn't happen. Only with Opera, even after soft resets.
But that's minor.

Tips, Tricks, and How To (Updated 7 Nov 2008 at 7:30 PM)

0. Pay attention to this from the first post!!!! It will answer alot of your questions --> +Manila styled application CABs are INCLUDED but NOT INSTALLED. Apps include Opera 9.5.2392, HTC Album, HTC Audio Manager, You Tube with fix, Large Title Bar, X-Button (HTC Task Manager), and more (Opal title bar and Vista Hide Battery Gage) in the My Documents folder. All tested and working. You choose want you want to install or not install.

1. Install the Manila 2D customizer before you try to customize M2D first! The files is in the Rom Pack folder.

2. Pictures Tab How To make it work properly: Install Album application from ROM pack. Use Customizer to turn on the Pictures Tab. Now open the pictures tab and press the ALBUM softkey. Now click the ALL menu button. Now go to the Menu soft key on the right. Select Set as Default Album. Now exit application and it works as it should.

3. Internet Tab - Install Opera from ROM Pack. Now use customizer to add the Internet Tab. Done! You will not have You Tube on the Internet Tab!

4. Music Tab - Install HTC Audio Manager from ROM Pack. Now use customizer to add the Music Tab. Done!

5. Scroll Bar Thickness - Posted a cab below to reset the scroll bar thickness back to the stock width of 12 pts. Just download and apply then SOFT REBOOT. This will also be in the next ROM / ROM Pack.

6. M2D Tip - Try disabling the extra tabs on newly selected themes as most themes leave all tabs enabled by default. This causes memory issues. Also try a soft reboot after changing a theme. A theme is composed of nearly 400 individual files. That bogs down the phone OS. I wish the author of M2D forced a reboot after a new theme was used but it doesn't.

7. You Tube - Install both files in the YouTube Folder. Soft reset and enjoy!

At the very top of the thread, there's a list of links for each carrier. Those links don't work as you stated. But, at the buttom of those links it says something to the effect, if the link is dead click here http://www.scottcrosler.com/ Go to that site and click on the picture of the mogul 6800. It will say loaded and economy.... Once you click on the icon you will either download R4RLoaded.rar(72mb) or Economy.rar (54mb). Purely your choice. And if you join a forum other that Wckediden we will find you and beat you silly :dash1: . Just kidding. Seriously, we're all 1 big community and it's all about sharing the knowledge and info. I hope this helps you out -and enjoy the look of envy from your friends when they see your phone modded out.

The R4Reloader fixed some issues for me, but some still exist. One in particular, when I slide to the progams tab and click on "all programs", the window launches fine. If I close out of it, then attempt to launch "all programs" again, the window will not launch. The work around is to just click on the start button and access it that way. Landscape mode still doesn't stretch across the screen outside of launched applications. I did a google search on it. There's suppossedly a cab for it. When I find the link I'll post it here unless someone beats me to it.. Other than that, R4Reloaded runs runs pretty good:roooox:.

First off I want to say sorry about your confusion. This my first attempt at installing a custom rom too, so I know it can be challenging. After that, my first question is, which version of this did you install. Did you install the economy.rar. or the r4reloaded. I will assume you installed the r4reloaded because that's what I'm using and I haven't had the chance to fool around with the economy.

Q&A

A= I tried duplicating your problem and here's what I come up with. When you end your call, there's a few seconds that goes by to where you can hit the X on the top right hand corner. If you wait to late, you finger will touch the screen while it's in transition and cause the music player to launch. That was the only way I could duplicate your problem. When I let the screen close on it's on, the music did not start playing. When I tapped the X quick enough, the music did not play. And when I had the music playing, went to another screen, answered the phone and closed the app, the music did not play. Possible conclusion, either hit the x quicker, make sure you are actually hitting the x (try your stylus instead of finger to test) or just allow the phone close the phone screen on it's own once you end the phone call.

A= Being that I just flashed to this rom, I didn't really have a call history ( and no contacts) I called my phone 20 times just to make a mock call history and was unable to duplicate your problem. As my call logs increase, I'll keep that in mind.

A= Did you reboot after updating the changes? It's not always necessary, but it's recommended to soft reset (reboot) your phone when making such changes. If that problem persists, then it may be a bug with one of the tabs you have installed. In particular, I have the same problem when I activate the "MyFaveswidget" - even after a soft reset.

4. it doesnt connect to the internet if you dont manually configure the settings...

A= you lost me on that one budd.:PDT_Armataz_02_09: I'm assuming you mean when you press the globe, nothing happens. If so, have you tried installing and alternate web browser like Opera or Skyfire?

Nothing launches for me when I press the globe, although the youtube link works fine. I did notice that in the Rom folder (Scott's ROM Pack) located under my My Documents, there was no cab for Opera like in the previous version. So, that basically means you have to do a search for a browser. Otherwise we have to use the IE explorer..

Here's a work around I found on XDA's website for the landscape issue made by mbarvian. It's a hack, but it's a start in the right direction. If there's another one out, feel free to share.

By any chance, is there a hack I can use to edit the registry for the camera. When I was testing it out, I noticed there was no option to use the flash for taking pictures. I tried downloading one of those apps to where you can use your camera as a flash light, but as soon as I pulled up the camera it disabled the flash.

I'm almost sure it was something I did because it was my first attemp at flashing a rom. More times than not, it's user error. For example I didn't use Hard-SPL to unlock my phone, I used nueSPL-2.47. Not sure if that's an issue or not. I've been tempted to relock it and use Hard-SPL, but got busy looking for additional apps. Besides the camera flash and landscape background not stretching across, the only other bug I've been able to duplicate is= when I slide to the programs tab and launch "all programs", then close it by either the 'x' or task manager, then attempt to reopen all programs again, the window will not launch until I soft reset. The only way I can access all programs is by accessing it through the start button. Oh, Operator tab doesn't work for me and when I enable the faves widget - but I'm aware those are open issues. LOL, regardless though, I still like it so much in fact, that I refuse to flash to something else because manilla 2D is fire.

I used the mbarvian cab for the landscape issue. I took it off though because the lag was to long for me. Unfortunately my attention span is that of a nat with certain things. I have the link to the download on post number #81 if I'm not mistaken, unless you're talking about a different landscape option for M2D.

Ha, this if funny to. I promiss you I was thinking the same thing. Kind of like this toyota tocama commercial.... they talked so much about how it's like a tocoma, I decided to get one. Question, Is your battery charged completely or atleast 60% full or better when starting this? Reason being, if your batter is on it's last leg, it's not going to get enough power from the pc's usb cable to sustain it. If it's your battery is full, what radio version is your phone currently set to? and last, Did you install the correct cab for your carrier?

The link for the Sprint version dosent work so i took the alternate link... scottcrossler website
and i downloaded the Round4 reloaded. Im i missing a section for each carrier? or was that the right one?

no take a look at the kaos roms and flash the radio or qickly go back to sprint.com and download and install the newest rom and than flash back to custo and you will than have the radio....

all you would ahve to do is hard reset now after you take the battery out for 1 minute to reset the page pull.

If you're with sprint, dial *2 and press the talk button, your vision provisioning may need to be reset on their end.

Gotta it with sprint you need to add a connection use cell line then add #777 under the number and leave the rest blank and connect...

its because of the aftermarket dialer and it must not support all the ## codes.

The phone was working fine. I was able to text but was having issues with the GPS and internet. I assumed something got scrambled during the flash and I was going to take a look. I ended up having a character off for my user name and that was the issue.

hit start/ settings /personal/ buttons.....then even though its gonna have it set for the internet button....change it to anything hit ok...then change it back to internet explorer......i had the same problem before bro

UPDATE: I was able to figure out the default calendar issue. Instead of looking in the operating system, I found a setting in Thumbcal to make it the default calendar app.

Hope this helps anyone else who is using or decides to try Thumbcal along with the iContacts for PIM. :)

I'll try Update 21, I assumed this was 20 or lower. If that doesn't work I guess I'll be left to trying to manually edit the weather XML and doing that DNS proxy fix. I can't lie though, the DNS proxy makes me a little nervous for all the rest of my data. Seems like a drastic change for a small weather update data feed.

Still no go with custom weather sites and the touchflo 2d. Maybe cooking it in makes it so that the patches they have over at XDA don't work. I'm going to try the XML fix next. Anyone with any suggestions please chime in!

You should be able to change it using the manilla 2d customizer. I'm not sure which customizer is built into the rom but if that doesn't work, you can install the newest version from XDA here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=427392

Bro you gotta read...once you flash you have to install scott's rom pack, you will find it in the my documents section. Once that is installed navigate to the folder under my documents called scott's rom pack and then open the carriers folder and install whatever carrier cab you want. Your phone will work even if you don't install the carrier cab, but if you want internet you have to install the carrier cab.

Loaded this tonight and since then my phone won't connect to the internet. I was able to set up my email and sync once, not sure if the wi-fi was on. could have been, and since then I can't connect. I can still connect through wi-fi. I didn't change any settings except for the m2dc settings. I wouldn't think there are any dependencies in there that would affect connectivity.

Error Message:
"Cannot connect with current connection settings. To change your connection settings, tap settings.

Looked through the settings and it is asking for ISP settings. Not sure what these should be.

Any ideas?

Loaded this tonight and since then my phone won't connect to the internet. I was able to set up my email and sync once, not sure if the wi-fi was on. could have been, and since then I can't connect. I can still connect through wi-fi. I didn't change any settings except for the m2dc settings. I wouldn't think there are any dependencies in there that would affect connectivity.

Error Message:
"Cannot connect with current connection settings. To change your connection settings, tap settings.

Looked through the settings and it is asking for ISP settings. Not sure what these should be.

Any ideas?

Bro, please read and search before you post, this is why the moderators get so mad sometimes....this has been answered in the thread and is in the first post...to get your internet to work after flashing this device you must install your carrier cab...look at my last post in this thread which is a couple of posts right above yours on the same page that goes into detail on how to do this.

I would recomend garmin. Waaaaay better then telenav. We got the full version here at Wckediden

For sprint users, you can text NAV to 777468 and it will send you a link. Link didn't recognize my phone when I used skyfire. Had to run the link through IE.

you will be able to get the cab by using the built in search feature.... we are working on getting it fixed so please be patient.

anyone having incoming call issues? I have had a couple people call and not ring through? They called from a different number and got through. They called three times from the first phone. I was watching tv the whole time. Had signal and ringer was on. ROM issue or coincidence?

Never heard of this maybe it was something wrong with there phone because this is not a known issue

This is a great rom! Love the way it works, wasnt a great fan of the 2d... but for some reason i have had it on my phone for like a week and a half... and i like it havnt had a freeze, or had to reboot once... did have to dl a few uttilities, all and all very nice and thanks... it a keeper (at least for this month... hehe)

your fine if you look at the link in the first post it tells you to use it works for a service providers.... all you have to do once flashed is run the carrier cab....

you arent going to be able to fit all of that on one rom or even ocme close...... your device isnt capable because of memory limits.

I had that problem, calls not showing up, for a little bit too, but it fixed itself so i'm not sure what the issue is on that but for the random exiting, its because the touchflo always wants to be on top so no other today plugins will mess with it. If you don't use your open app for a few seconds then touchflo will override it and go on top. Your program sometimes will still be running in the background so you can get back to it with your task manager. As far as i know there is no fix for this

Sound like you should try to hard reset and if that does not helped. Then try flashing back to stock sprint rom. Then either flash back to this rom or pick another rom on the site and search 2d it should come up with the thread where has all the files to where you can make phone like it did with this rom

By any chance, is there a hack I can use to edit the registry for the camera. When I was testing it out, I noticed there was no option to use the flash for taking pictures. I tried downloading one of those apps to where you can use your camera as a flash light, but as soon as I pulled up the camera it disabled the flash.

Any ideas?

at his website he has a universal with no bloat ware and than has the dcd carrier cabs built in so you could just run that for your provider if there is one. if not have none of the bloatware.

try installing a custom dialer...i think that is what ended up working for me when I had the mogul and was running his rom

Nevermind I finally managed to salvage the files and struggle them off of the hard drive...

Hooked it up into another desktop computer, went to that drive... Set up network sharing on the whole drive and copied the files I wanted one by one...

yup you can download and flash the samew ay you would for any custom rom.... this should come inside a ruu already so all you have to do is connect and run the romupdateutility.exe

yes you can flash straight to this without unlocking again..... and for the flashing from sd card you will need a card 2 gigs or less and you need to format it to FAT32 (you will lose files so backup on pc) and than once you do that you take the .nbh file and instead of taking it and placing it in the RUU just rename to TITAIMG.nbh and drop on the card than manually place the phone into bootloader mode by pressing and holding the camera and power buttons while soft resetting and follow the prompts on the screen.

no try to reformat and the nbh file renamed correctly (TITAIMG) has to be the only thing on the card which also has to be 2gb or less to do successfully...... and you are flashing this to a mogul correct?

yup its a mogul. i reformatted the storage card so i don't know what else. i guess i should forego this rom which isn't fair.
