Ok im goin to be getting a alltel mogul in a few days, and was wondering for flashing it to sprint to mak ethe gps work is that just stock to stock..and then the wm 6.1?

you can unlock and flash to any gps enabled rom just follow the link in my signature next to the words learn how to flash.

well seems as though i have to go with the touch because of some unexpected money issues...but will i still be able to mod it the same as the mogul?

yes but obviously you need different roms (ones made for touch) and some games wont work due to lack of hard keys but touch also handles memory hogging apps much better bc it has twice the ram

no you dont have to but there are roms for the touch that have gps now so that is a big plus also custom roms are faster and more stable

It's possible.. You are always taking the risk of bricking your phone, but if you follow the directions for flashing correctly, then you should be fine... Basically, do your research first before flashing a custom rom... I currently have Alltel's 3.35 rom with the 3.37 radio flashed to my 6800, and it runs Great!!!

Where can i get the alltel 3.35 rom all i can find is the sprint one..and im going to be getting the touch so what rom would that be?

you need to do your research homeboy! there is no such alltel 3.35 us alltel 6800 users flash to sprints 3.35 so we can have gps and flash the custom roms that we want! with your new touch you should already have the gps rom that you need and all you will have to do is unlock using cokemans unlocker and flash the rom of choice....just look in dash sig under flashing roms and you will be golden.....p.s. this is getting way off topic on the original thread!

If you get the 6800, then go to http://www.htc.com/us/FAQ_Detail.aspx?p_id=63&act=sd to download the Alltel Rom like the one that I have stated above.. (You don't need to use Sprint's rom...) If you get the Touch, then go to http://www.htc.com/us/FAQ_Detail.aspx?p_id=64&act=sd to download Rom version 3.04.671.2 and Radio Rom 3.37...

Yeah i know this is getting off topic but just one more thing...so with the new touch it will already have gps and i dont have to get wm 6.1????...and if so are the other roms just pretty much skins?

Before you flash a custom rom, usually the person who made it probably has what is included and what has been left out... Just read up on it, and you'll see...

That's up to you... Just do some research on here in the "Supported Rom's" area...

It's already included in both rom's...You don't need to flash it seperately... I'm about to flash the 3.42.30 radio rom from the 3.37 to see if it's any better.. I'll let you know the results..

ARGGG...ok my mom keeps ****in changin her mind....now we are going to go through celcom....but they still have htc stuff....can i flash the right roms with them to?

whenever i see DASH or someone say check their sig for things...nothing is on anyones sig. all it is is a banner add for Wckediden.com...

go to your my control panel under the site banner on the left and than go to edit options and than check show signatures.
