when i get my phone can i use it as a literal mobile pc with out activating it? that is internet, email, all the things you can do on a computer but obvioulsy not make calls as it is not connected to a network?

Yes only if you are connected VIA WiFi... only internet will work!

you wouldn't be able to use Ev-Do or a mobile internet connection so you would have to be in range of something that you can get wifi from but i think it will still do all of the above if it has a connection to wifi...that's what i would think if i'm wrong somebody else let me know

i dont know if all that is true cause I am currently disconnected till the 16 and there is no wifi in my area. I still have internet and everything.

hmmmm that's weird maybe it can connect to the towers anyways? i'm no expert really

Yea you just got lucky... it is true your carrier hasnt caught up with it...hope u dont get slapped with a bill... SOLVING THIS THREAD.
