note is first time takes along time to get a lock b/c it has to be primed, and also please know that this is a beta/leak. Did u take battery out and hard reset after u flashed to this rom? If not make sure u do.

If your GPS works, but your gettting mixed results for the GPS Lock, then I came across a few fixes/tweaks, they work for me. These may or may not work for you; so browse the forum links and read for yourself the results others are having then try it out.

1. Enable aGPS Mode:

2. Some other registry tweak, seems to have worked, but can't really tell the actual effect of it.

3. Use a today-plugin called 'GPSToday' currently in v. 0.95. Personally I love this program and it's a great 'primer' and locks on quite well. I'm getting great results with these.

Again, I can't really tell you the effect of each individual tweak/fix, I've done/added all 3 to my device and im getting a lot better results.

I've tried downloading the Sprint link on both sites (here and ppcgeeks) and it doesn't work properly. It will download only a percent of it and stop.

Ya I had the same problem trying to download at first, but if you just leave the download page up the entire time (aka hit download then don't touch anything until it's finished) it should work. As soon as I brought another window to the front of my screen it stopped both times, the third time I left the original page at the front and it worked. Weird that it's working this way...

you followed the steps ands flashed to the alltel rom first correct?????? and also the first time can take up to 10 minutes to connect.

I believe the GPS can take long the first time it actually catches a a signal and works..... i heard it can take up to 20-25min. Make sure you are outside and have good signal stegnth!

This ROM is WM6.1, however, it's a Sprint ROM. I read that it will work on other Touch phone as long as you don't let the customization run. Check out the link I posted to the ppcgeek guys. They've been testing it quite a bit.

The programs that will not work so far are these: Touchpal and TCPMP.

I don't know any technical info about this ROM. I only posted so the Wckediden folks can test it as well if desired.

yes you are correct and i have a tutorial in my signature. just ask in the thread if you want me to make the addition of the touch w/gps to it and i will get it down..... walks all through it like a baby.

w the steps for flashing come on now when you flash to the alltel rom you will have the radio that you need for the gps and rev a to work.

after testing the two roms I have found that I like the features of mustan-tech's v3 rom for the touch. It has a lot more features and is very pretty :). If you need any more info on it ask in the mustan-tech rom's thread. :)

I have found that when I use this rom it opens the keypad after everything I do. Close out a game or program and bam, there is the keypad again. :( :( Not very fun or practical. Seems kinda slow to the touch too but maybe its just me.

EDIT*** Also, the quick menu (start menu) works when it wants to. meaning I can push the start menu and it wil be normal, push again to close, push again to open and then there is the quick menu. THAT ALSO FRUSTRATING.......

probably cause you have a modified dialer so the phone codes are so you can do things like ##786# and so forth. As for the rom, i would switch to mustan-techs V3 rom its a much better rom works crazy good havent had any issues with V3 yet

Actually if you'd give it a chance, you will find the OMJ Rom has a lot of really cool things in it that some of the other cooked ROMs don't have. It's the best I've tried so far and even though there are a few little issues, there is enough informaiton on the ppcgeeks website to take care of them.

There are a lot of GOOD things about this rom but it's the not so good things that ruin it for me. If you gcould give me some tips to fix these instead of sending me to another site then it owuld be appreciated. Thanks for your input on this rom.

I downloaded it this morning and the only thing there was a self extracting rar file with one little file in it. That's wierd lol.

so far this is the only ROM that has multiple GPS Navigation, multimedia, utilities, phone codes. I have spend a lot less time getting this the way i like with all the programs i like most are alreadyl there.

the GPS on this ROM is amazing. i get 5-8 sats within seconds of me going outside my house. i can get 3 or 4 in my house.

I can give detailed information on how to fix all problems stated in the last post but i would have to find it again myself. and i apoligize for sending a member to another website but since OMJ's Rom has been tested much more on that website than this one, i felt inclined to point them there. from now on, if i can't answer directly i won't post.

it's not a bad thing that your sending a member to another site, cause its going to happen. It's just obvious you have fixed it on your phone or have read about so why not post it. Let me know what you come up with when you get home and I will do some searching my self. Could you explain what the phone codes are????

The phone codes are for accessing the progam areas of your phone. The Rev A verifcation is one of the things you can find there.

There a many posts here that give detailed information on how to use the codes. The thing I like about these is that I don't have to remember codes to access my phone for changing things. OMJ has included them for me.

So from the instructions what I have understood is that once I know where to get these above files...I basically unlock the phone by running the ImCoke application on my laptop while the phone is activesynced...then I update the radio to 3.37....then I run the ROM file exe and follow the onscreen directions. Once the ROM is installed I do a hard reset and I should be done??

Please let me know.

are you totally blind there is look in my signature to learn how to flash and also in the other rom for the rev a and gps there is step by step with links also look for that one isnt too far down from this here OMJ rom..... very east to do...... and you need to flash to the alltel touch rom first.

yes and you need to flash tpo the alltel rom first before flashing to the custom to get the radio and the rest is correct

If it is...do I start off by just running that EXE on my laptop while actively synced then after that is done, running the unlocker as mentioned above at which point I would have the radio setup and the unlock done and ready to go with the OMJ EXE?

yessir that is the rom that you will want and also be sure that you flash tto that first by just going through the steps and all after you unlock your phone using the unlocker which you can find in my signature... than flash the OMJ rom and you iwll be golden....... also please look at my signature for further step by step for flashing roms and all very ewasy and cant be broken down any more than that lol...... good luck and let us know how it goes.

Ok I am stuck. I had active sync connected and ran the unlocked utility...then it asked me to disconnect the usb and reconnect which I did, however upon reconnection I can no longer connect to the device using active sync...right now the device is connected to my latop and has 4 colors running across the screen (red, green, blue, white)

Hmm another problem....so the Alltell installed and now im trying to active synce to run the OMJ...but its not connecting and when I tried to start active synce on the PDA...it said to install using the "getting started disc with your device on the computer"

your not supposed to let the customizations run on the rom so hard reset and than do a soft reset when it says device will customize in .......3.....2.....1...... and than you should be fine.

you need to soft reset first or insdtall quick menu and use that menu than it will be there.

alright go to start/settings/connections/connections/than choose internet/and get settings and let it sit for a lil without falling asleep and than when done soft reset and try.

Ok just to update...the epst settings are correct...even when I made changes...if you run verizons over the air programming *228 all the settings go back to original. I still cant get on the internet however

I tried reinstalling the ROM and still nothing...i was unable to go back to stock because it would nto let met...i was able to run the unlocker again and reinstall the OMJ ROM, but again same result no internet.

Ok what I belive may have caused the problem is that when I did the Alltel rom install...i let it customize the settings (didnt do the soft reset before the 321 customization)...then after that I did the OMJ install...could this be it?

If it is...what is the fix? PLEASE HELP

Ok to recap:

I have a Verizon VX6900 and last night I tried to update to the OMJ GPS + Rev A update. I first unlocked the phone using the Vogue_unlocker_MFG_2.31 and verified that 2.31 was displayed. Then I updated the ROM to the RUU_Vogue_4350_ALLTEL_WWE_3.04.671.2_Radio_4350H_3 .37.10_Alltel_NV2.00_PRL30008_0331_Ship_withSpecia lNBH

version (i think this is where i messed everything up because I let the Alltell customization settings go through instead of soft resetting before the 321)



After this ran the OMJ.WM6.1.GPS.Verizonv2 installation and was able to get WMP 6.1 running but was not able to make any calls or get on the internet. Calling #8899 and authenticating got the phone calls working but still no internet.



I have since tried reinstalling the ROM which goes through but gets me to the same point (however even if i do a hard reset or reinstall the Alltell or OMJ ROM I never loose authentication with Verizon (dont know if thats weird or not).



What I think the problem may be is that the Alltell settings are not leaving my phone...for example if I dial ##778 and go into the security settings everything says Alltell..and if i edit these settings and then do a *228 on my phone to reprogram...all the Alltell settings come back. So I think the only way to fix this would be to revert back. to a 100% Verizon ROM and let it do the customization and then go through the whole process again...problem is I cant find a verizon ROM that will work.



I tried installing this rom (

[NEW] Verizon Stock Rom Version 2.0.9 )) but after the install the phone just hangs at the PPCGEEKS page...


I dont know what to do?

I found this thread which talks about sprint phones and even describes a similar situataion where Alltell was allowed to customize and how to go into the phone and change settings, but the instructions are for sprint phones. And the instructions to revert back to factory ROM I tried and thats when I get the PPCGEEK page hanging.

im having the same problem with a customers phone through bell. but anyways when i find something out i will tell you.... im not sure the steps he did to make it like that and all since i received and told him i would attempt to fix it...... but if i find a fix i will be sure to post it up.

well your stock bootloader than so if you flash to the stock verizon rom you will be fine and can try again.

msl is th unlock and when you ask them they ahve to give it to you it basically allows you to change the dunctions of the phone so ask them for the msl the ## number since i dont know verizons and than once they give that to you go through till you find an option for rev a and than once you do that make sure its says enabled.......

I have to say this is a great release. I tried a few others and this is my favorite so far.

Now, I only have one problem. When I try and syc my touch I get a connection error. It says disconnect and try again. No matter what I do I get this error. Am I the only one? Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this? I wanted to sync my phone to get my contacts. Thanks in advance.

Yes, once the flash was complete I let the os boot up and set the clock. Then before it optimized the os I hit the soft reset and then pulled the battery. Then put the battery back in and did the hard reset. I think this error has something to do with windows but am not sure. Either way I am going to flash again and see if thats the issue. Maybe I'll try a different rom release. I do have to say though, the gps works great with this release. Google maps is awesome with the satellite view.:brows:

Ok, I just redid the flash and I'm getting the same error. I'm going to hookup to another computer and see if its just the mobile center creating the problem.

Also, before I did the original flash I used SKtools to do a full system backup. Can I restore my phone with this backup or will it not be compatable with this rom release?

The HHC that comes with this rom wasnt cooperating with the weather mod. So what I did was reinstall with the HHCv08b.cab then install HTC Home - Schen 2.1 with N2A Weatherpatch (UPX Compressed) then reboot. At that point I can go in and add the custom city. Before I installed the new HHCv08b adding a custom city wouldnt work. But, the biggest thing to remember (which I didnt) is to disable the HTC Home plugin from the today screen till your done installing and adding the custom city.

I'll tell you what, after spending the entire night yesterday and most of today toying with the activesync and weather issue I was just about to give up totally. I tried 4 different rom's and they all seemed to be pretty buggy. One thing that bothered me with this particular rom was that the dialer kept popping up EVERYTIME I DID SOMETHING! Also there were more apps embedded in the rom image that I really didnt need or like. I also had issues with the Mustan-Mega rom. I had really buggy keyboards so that was out really fast lol.

Anyway I finally landed on this rom (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=26776) and have been playing with it all night. I must say it doesnt have as many bugs as the others and being almost stock I could mod it the way I liked it.

So if anyone is having issues with any of their installed roms I suggest to try this one (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=26776) out its been the best so far for me. The GPS works quite well along with many other apps. Its got all the default apps that I needed except a few things that I've added. I was also able to restore my PIM with SKTools so I am good to go now.

Sorry to drag this offtopic on but there isnt any info on the new version yet. I just saw someone post that V3 was out and I looked on their ftp and saw it. So thats why I posted it.

So, maybe I should wait till there is more info about the new version to post a new thread.

It seems someone is already having an issue with V3 over there so who knows lol..

Edit: I installed the V3 Rom last night and right away I noticed it didnt have the few bugs that I initially didnt like. The keyboards ran very smooth. He's even included the new diamond keyboard:) I also noticed that he included skyfire but, a registered email and password are required.

verion 3 ha been releasd this is the original...... so i woud go with that so no reup is needed..... i just posted thismorning.
