Overview: It often happens that a certain enterprise has in service a lot of identical Pocket PC devices that have common interface (for example, used in kiosk mode only), are equipped with the same set of programs, and used by personnel in the same way. It surely takes too much time to provide the same appearance and behavior to every device that must be configured from zero. When one needs to configure a new device, re-configure the old one, or reconfigure the whole pack of devices he must perform all the same operations, like uninstalling and reinstalling programs, changing registry, adding or rewriting files, and providing kiosk mode, etc. This often requires attention to details, good memory and, last but not least, some skills and knowledge.

Would this work similar to Sashimi? wopndering if it would be a good program to use when I constantly flash my ROM to save time reinstalling everything?

well if it goes along with normal "Computer style cloning" then this would not be what you are after. now lets say you are an IT guy for a company & you give out the "Sprint Touch Pro" to the "Big Wig" execs. you want each phone to be the exact same setup pertaining to exchange/activesync/phonebooks etc. you would setup ONE of the touch pro's & clone it. at this point you have made an "image" of the device & its ready to be put on other devices. this basically lets you setup ONE device how you want it, & then "clone" this setup to other identical devices.

in short, if you are looking for this help you in flashing & restoring apps/etc in my opinion WILL NOT work like u want it to.

correct you never want to restore an old backup of registry, programs, etc because after you flash the different rom you will restore the old roms registry which can conflict and cause brick.

this wouldn't even be a "restore" in my opinion. as it would simply WIPE the existing ROM/setup & put the "cloned" version on. its simply not a restore feature. if you have Device A B & C... you setup device A as you wish & "clone" it, & that makes an image of the device. you can then put that exact image on devices B & C making them exactly the same as device A. its something we do quite a bit in the IT world on computers.

shit i thought this was a backup thread for swcked backup and not clone hahaha.... you are correct this is for business use on having all contacts, cetain apps, server domains for emails, petc to be on the device quickly and easily
