you can try using aol instant messenger from your phone and add the buddy My IP Relay...when you IM, My IP Relay it will do the following...
wangsta4lyff (9: 15:14 AM): hey
My IP Relay (9: 15:14 AM):
Welcome to IP Relay.
To place a relay call type CALL
To register your personal My IP Relay Number type ACTIVATE
For customer service information please type HELP
you can place a call by typing call, then just type what you want to say and the operator will take what you type and say it to the person you are calling...when the person responds the operator will type a message back to you saying whatever the person on the other end of the call said...quite interesting actually, and 100% free last time i checked...

hey venom,
that sounds very interesting...i might give it a try. but im not sure if we are talking about two different things....but i was wondering if there is a program where I can talk into the phone (w/o typing) and it will automatically transcribe it into a text on the phone and then all i have to do is press send via sms to whatever contact. i apologize if that is exactly what you are saying that feature does but according to what you said, i think it entails a different method and feature where i have to type first and that will be relayed to the other party via call. is that correct?
i was referring to where i dont have to use any keyboard and just talk into the phone and let it do its thing for me.
although, i will try this feature youre talking about anyway....so you are saying this program is already in the phone under the IM programs???? and just follow your instructions from there on??
thanks

nah dude we are talking about 2 completely different things, speech to text is a little different and a little bit harder to accomplish, we will have to wait for Dash to get this to work :)

I do know that Sprint offers this. Not sure if the HTC Touch is capable of this or not, but I saw a vid on youtube w/the Palm Centro that does this exact thing. I think it was like $5 or $10 a month for that service. So if you're w/Sprint, I'd say call them up to see if this is something that you can just pay monthly for. But yeah, if anyone does find any 3rd party app for this, that would be tyte!
