Description: Hey guys, came across this while browsing for a weather fix for my Touch. It's very cool it actually gives you 6-tabs as opposed to 5 (including a music and contacts tab) while also giving you more US weather options. This is very helpful, especially to me because the closest included weather city was a state away, now I can get a city away. It also has an xml file that you can edit to put in your own cities.

Installation: First you want to install this cab file by dragging it onto your device and running it... SdkCerts.cab (http://rapidshare.com/files/73368297/SdkCerts.cab.html) then just install this htchome plugin (it should overwrite your existing plugin if you have it installed) HTC Home Schen 2.1 6-Tab (http://rapidshare.com/files/73366937/htchome-2.1-n2a-upx.zip.html)

Inside My Device/HTCHome you will find a bunch of icons and such, you can change these out for your own icons as long as they are the same dimensions. I'm currently working on a fix for the audio manager to open when you press Launch Music Player

*edit* Found solution to the audio manager problem, if you install this cab file, and install it on your device you can press the launch music manager button and it will auto load the audio manager application even if it's not already open.

Thanks for linkin me here bro..BUT I installed the first CAB file, ang then installed the second link as well. The HTC home program is a little different then what I used to have (as you said it will automatically replace my previous one), but I still can't get my audio manager to open up when I click "Launch Player" Can someone please help me out, and if I posted in the wrong area, I'm hella sorry. I can post this question on the HTC audio manager thread I originally posted.

the bottom link shoudl fix the issue no matter what, make sure you are installing to device and not storage card when installing this...

basically this fix just makes it so all the extracted files are put directly into your windows directory because that's where they need to be for this to work.

huh it shouldnt look under the audio manager thread in the help desk for the touch and there is a registry edit you can perform in that thread.

click on thre weather so you get to the screen like when you set up the weather on your phone wehn choosing city. in the bottom right of the screen you will see a tab click that and you will see options or something like that. (sorry dont have on my phone right now just flashed a new rom) than change from celcius to Fahrenhite.

When I click on the certs cab thing it asks me about uploading files but how do I get the file off there to put it on my phone? And then where do I put it on my phone? How do I run it? omg im sorry but this has been discussed in the noob area in the help desk. go to the certs.cab and than click it. it will take you to rapidshare and than click on free after scrolling down wait the 45 seconds and than type in the code and it will let you download. now to the rest put it on the storage card and double click to install and choose main memory. this was all discussed in the noob guiide so pease read through that and use the quick search beofre posting in the future thanks.

Ok few problems with this fix.

I did everything as instructed

First did the sdkcert then the htchome plugin

and lastly the audio manager fix.

now the problems

since update it changed my default clock to some white clock that I cant change anymore. It added a date thing at the top that I can't seem to remove, and to top it off the weather still doesn't work.

Since I'm retarded I didn't back up before doing this "fix"....
I guess if I were to go to remove programs which ones would I remove to get it back to how I had it so I can try again?

I'm guessing the programs I need to remove are:

HTC Audio Manager
HTC HTC Home

I spose if I had to I could restore back to way earlier today when the phone was basically stock... but if that can be avoided =D

EDIT:

Ok I managed to get rid of the date at the top by going to Start->Settings->Today-> Items Tab and unchecked Date

Went into the HTC Customizer set everything back to default saved then went back in again and set it back to how I wanted it, and it worked.

Still unable to get the weather to work.

I'm not scared to say where I live, Omaha, Nebraska can anyone get this to work? I've used the default for omaha, and custom ones still can't seem to get it to work. Omaha is the largest city in NE so this should work no?

Ok finally got weather to work by doing another custom one and a soft reset. Thanks for the fix!

Yeah I do, after the install I was trying to use that to change the clock and
do the weather, but nothing was working, the clock wouldn't change and the
weather was the same, so I did another soft reset, set the HHCustomizer
back to default saved and went back in to change the things again and it
finally changed and then I got the weather to work.

if you have ultimate launch on your phone you have to uncheck it and recheck the home plugin. than change the clock and all and than uncheck the home plugin and reactivate the ultimate launch....

no reason to have both you can integrate the home plugin into the UL so you can still use it and its an awesome launcher and way different tan htc. and hhc can still be used as i stated above.

well every time you switch a theme on your phone the settings for backgrounds and all in UL can get confused and casue the freeze. i havent experienced it myself i just get a different background but there are some that i have talked to that have dealt with the same..... so iguess just be sure to soft reset the beast everytime you change your theme.

ok well this is what happened just now it froze on me and i switched the theme again and did a soft reset and its froze when i get to HTC homeplugin so i dont the activate plugin on startup checked and the HTC home is slected un the UL and as for the today screen settings i have under them HTC tab all checked. the items tab i have non check except the UL on and for the apperance ihave the theme selected

Hey bro nice video, but I just noticed on your startup that it says test only which means you are running the beta radio. why are you running the beta radio? You should hard reset your phone and run the relocker, jus do a search for relocker, and download sprints 3.35 rom, which is the new rom sprint released,you can get it here just do a search. And for the bootup speed after you run the relocker and flash back to sprints 3.35 radio and after all that run the unlocker again and flash to kaos custom rom build 420 take 2, bootup speeds are way better then what i am seeing in your video.Like I said just search and you will find all that here. And remember after you flash to a custom rom to restart phone, take battery out for a minute, restart and had reset. Im pretty sure dash is gona notice that you are running the beta radio and will tell you what i am saying.

hmmmm, search for relocker, then download it and sync up your device and run the relocker and flash to sprints 3.35 rom. the if you want to try a custom rom again, just run the unlocker and choose which rom you want to run...

the reason that you got stuck at the black screen was because there was no radio and you had to flash the 3.35 rom first than the 6.1 rom. but anyways the activesync must have been checked at a time casuing it to do it like from the main screen that you didnt show. go back to the regular options without going to the tabs at all and than once you do that make sure activesync is unchecked.

what phone are you installing this on and what rom... on the official sprint WM 6.1 roms for either the mogul or the vogue than you wont be able to get this installed on those.... custom roms will still have this work though.

i actually managed to get this installed on the vogue-on the latest official 6.1 rom.
although i did use sprite backup of my previous build first. i love this version of the htc home. thanks!

i like the six tabs a lot and i downloaded them no problem, but for some reason htc home customizer doesnt work anymore for me, i apologize if this has been discussed but i was in a hurry. My problem is that only the original clock and icons show no matter what i change in the customizer. Just so I could start from scratch and eliminate possible conflicts with other programs I flashed my phone with the new sprint rom. Before doing anything else I installed each of the three cab's and did a soft reset between each. Still having the issues with the contacts tabs.

I seem to be the only person with this problem but I will post my fix/discovery anyway. I found a post on xda's website that said the contacts tab and the cube can not both work together. There was a registry entry to delete that would fix it. Looking back it might have been for that specific custom cube. Anyway, did not fix for me. Then I though great now the contacts on my cube wont work. Popped up the cube and tested it out. Worked fine. Went back to the home screen and the contacts I added to my cube were also added to the contacts tab and they now worked. Just to be sure, I re-flashed my phone and installed the .cab for the 6-tabs. Did the finger flick to pop up the cube. Added the contacts there and it worked. No more disappearing act on soft reset and it behaved properly. I don't know why I had to add the contacts this way but for me adding them on the home screen did not work. I hope this helps someone.

why not have it update more? it doesnt drain the battery or anything since the amount of time it takes to get the weather is minimal.

after installing the tab program I tried to change tabs on home screen and it wouldn't let me so I went to ultimate lanch deleted tab (htc home today plugin) then went to htc customizer changed the tab to a random icon and clock then saved them and closed htc cust. then went to ult. launch the added today plug in then closed it then it had the random clock and tabs i chose then went back and repeted the step above and changed them to the ones I wanted and Its works fine now all the tabs I choose work just fine.
maybe confusing but it worked ?

yeah I had to do it like twice before it took but after the second time it works fine didn't know if it made sense but It could do steps if needed just didn't want to type it all that was short and sweet version

hello ok i tried the touch flo 2d thing and its way cool, but i like to keep things simple.
my question is, can touch flo 2d work with this 6tab for the htc touch. i want my touch looking like the touch not a diamond or pro until i get the real thing. dont know if this is a dumb question or can u point me in the direction of where to look? thanks

this is the HTC HOME today plugin & has nothing to do with TF2D. you would need to disable the touchflo from today screen & use this instead. hope that helps

thats is correct, or you could use them both on your touch by using an app called second today.
